Per a previous post here are my specs:
Windows XP PRO (i know i know its old but XP is my favorite OS of all time)
4 GIG GSKILL RAM (800 mhz) Athlon 7750 2.7 GHZ dual core
Gigabyte GA-MA780G-UD3H (latest bios)
Nvidia GT-440
Roswill 650 watt PS
Creative Audigy sound card

That's the first thing that came to mind.

When you loot a cargo container, and it vaporizes or whatever it does, does it do the same thing?

Otherwise, a square field of a repeating pattern of bad pixel output does suggest that the game client is calling on something that the graphics card cannot do or keep up with.

Time for an upgrade - and I'm the pot calling the kettle black here on that topic.

have had the same thing happen to me a few times when i was doing missions, not sure what it is, but its a stationary thing and soon left behind, doesnt seem to impact anything. based on the other guys spec's the only real similarity is that we're both running XP..

amd 2.6 quad core
4gb ram 800
nvidia 260 gtx
xp home!

its not a graphics driver thing, or if it is, its not related to being the 'latest' drivers, which i do have.
but at least its good to know im not the only one having this effect from time to time Blink
