New Skill for Deploying Players

I would like to see a skill that can be bought and trained for people who deploy away from their internet for long periods of time.

The skill could be called Pod Deployment, have a high multiplier so level 5 would take 18 months to train (never heard of a deployment longer then that) when you return from deployment you would be able to petition to get the skill book recycled for the skill points you trained. This skill would need to be re-purchasable, maybe could be a micro purchase item.

Currently there is no skill that takes more then 90 days to train that I am aware of and it leave members of military around the world unable to change skills if they do not have access to the internet or mobile device.

it would seem that the general consensus on this is that people don't want other players to be able to build up expendable SP in fear that they will just use it to minmax their characters on the next win button after they've finished minmaxxing for their current win button.

that or they should be able to be in direct contact with CCP, with proper documentation and etc if you pay for you game time you get SP say .75 to 1?

stop picking up bar flies and camp ho's, get a decent girl who will train the char while gone. can't trust your girl to fill up eve skills, sure as hell can't trsut them to be what we called in the Marine Corps "deply widows" or "geographically separated:" when you are gone. Skill qeue managed while away and you don't have to worry about getting the clap when you come back, win win really.

I killed my old CEOs thanatos while it was being piloted by his wife.

Sorry, just thought id bring it up. Was bloody hilarious, I've still got the TS recording somewhere.

Anyway, yeah I think for obvious reasons encouraging account sharing is bad. I don't care how awesome my GF is, I'm not gonna trust her with my internet space ships. She may have won my heart, but she isn't getting anywhere near my damn Tengus.

Pretty much this. My apologize to the OP... but this idea (even with the best of intentions) WILL create problems for the rest of us by those of us with not so good intentions.

yea, the abuse is the probelm. Be nice if there was some way to work tying CAC's (common access card) to login. DOD in the US issues them...but not sure how the rest of theworld rolls . But that brings in pki and that happy horse crap :(.

Be nice if a way could be presented to hook up those who serve.

People should not be rewarded for NOT playing the game......
Remove skill queue agane... you should have to log in to play.

And don't pull the crap what if i am going away for 2 weeks????? Well train a L5 skill then......

Changing the skill system is a baaaaad idea.

Please don't encourage CCP to even think about messing with it.

I have a friend which did WoW-raids while beeing deployed in Afghanistan. However, he is a german, and they weren't that much into action iirc.

I don't want an advantage over others I just want to be able to keep up while I and others serve our country. I would be willing to prove my service to CCP is that is required, Proof can be given by using Military email address, having second on file requiring activation on that email for this to be a option would keep non military from abusing it.

the Idea of reduced training speed may mess up their system but .9 training rate on that skill would allow us to not "fall behind" while we are actively paying for the accounts.

Good sir... it does not matter what YOU want or what would be convenient to you... what matters is how badly can an idea or system be abused by others who are not in your situation and whether the positives outweigh the negatives for a small group of people or a large group of people.

Now... what I can recommend that you do is to make a petition explaining your situation and see if you can work something out with CCP directly. Or you can arrange for a [more or less] tech savvy family member to do you a "big favor."
