Yes, that's what I said. Ah-BAD-en. Point is the emphasis on the second syllable, not the first. *

But also,

this is a fair point.

* Basically, every single person I know pronounces it "AHbuhdun," which sounds like some sort of Swedish dinosaur. I was watching some Alliance Tournament footage at work today, and the commentators kept pronouncing it that way as well, which drove me in a vigorous rage because I am racist against Swedish dinosaurs. As everyone knows, the only logical course of action when angry is to post on the EVE-O forums.

Oh god yes. The mispronunciation gets on my nerves as well.

Darn it people, it only has one "B"! One! Stop pronouncing with it two! Two D's, one B!

As a big Warhammer 40K fan, I cringe whenever one of my IRL friends brag about his "Abba(like the group)-din".

I want to punch him in the jaw.

In the long tradition of being American, I'm going to go ahead and continue ******* up that pronunciation.

Personally prefer the mispronunciation of the Anathema more. And no it was not named after some chick named Ana Thema.

Le Abaddon or La Abaddon.. Shouldn't it be female it is a ship and aren't all ships typically female except in the Russian Navy?

Just so your know that would be l'Abbadon, usually the "e" is not there if the first letter is a vowel.
