The only systems where you reasonably might take away the ability to PvP are the noob systems. But ganking there is already against the rules, so I don't really see the point.

Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

Just what the Hell did you think you were getting into when you hit "Download client," anyway?

This is not a multi-sharded game with PvE-only and PvP shards.

This is not a game with well-developed PvE content to balance the lack of PvP on a PvE-only shard.

This is not a game for carebears who feel entitled to doing what they want completely risk-free!!!

This x1000. I'll back any carebear that has the teeth and balls to deal with the game as CCP implemented it, they're out there but it seems the population of EVE is being seeded with the entitlement crowd that seem to have drifted in from other games that hold your hand and give you a cookie even when you screw up.

Leave that at the door when you step into EVE, forget what other games taught you because it won't wash here.

Welcome to EVE, grow some balls, get some teeth.

I think it a great idea especially for the new players.

You got to think outside of the box. Think about the new players.

Leave the pve combats in for the missions but remove the pvp-able in it, not counting the wars. Wars should be enable at anywhere.

Make things easier for the new player hence we have more players coming on to eve online. Not having the new player get gank or bully on whatsoever on their first day.

Right, because giving rookies the idea that eve is "safe" is a good idea ... Roll

And what wrong with "safe"? That's what this thread is all about, suggesting CCP to do something about it and help the new players. Make the EVE environment a little tad better for the new players.

THERE.
IS.
NO.
SAFE.
PLACE.
IN.
SPACE.

Teaching people otherwise is a very, very bad thing.

Hisec is safe for new players.

New players don't have the skills or capital to fly anything worth ganking.

Counter proposal:

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Genesis/New_Eden#sec

Make all new players start in that system. Make the gate between Exit and Access a one way gate.

Remove ALL bpos and skillbooks from the market in this pocket. Let T1 frig BPCs drop from the rats(and tune the rats for newbies in rookie ships) and turn them loose.

Sure, ganks will happen, but only by other newbies in, at worst, rifters. They can't make any real isk, because who are they gonna sell it to? They can't might a bunch of easy ores because how are they gonna get it out without a hauler?

It would be a good place for noobs to get a feel for EVE without exposing them to the most brutal of our habits.

Bet Access would be one of the most camped systems in all of the EVE cluster tho Pirate

Actually, real world police are there to "Serve and Protect". If an officer sees someone pull a gun on someone else in real life and drawl down on them the officer is allowed to use up to deadly force to stop the perp from commiting the crime. So your analogy is flawed.

At least in the US, it has been help up in court many times that a police officers duty is NOT to serve and protect individuals, but society as a whole.

It is not their job to save you, it is their job to try to prevent the criminal from committing more crimes by punishing them.

The police have no jurisdiction over punishments. Punishments are in the realm of the courts. Any police officer that allows a crime to be commited had they the chance to stop it are simply put, not doing their job.

FTFY

You can make all the excuses you want, spin it all you want, cry all you want ... but the reality is the only reason hisec even exists is for losers like the OP to bot and RMT. In your feeble little head that somehow constitutes a "playstyle", but unless you are a trade alt or a one-month noobie, there is zero reason to be in hisec except to RMT. Period.

Save the game - get rid of hisec.

I think you want to play a game that is not EVE if you want a happy little fun playground with kittens farting rainbows. This is EVE. In EVE you can have your stuff taken away from you. Even if you don't want it to be. It's really a core part of the game since always. Everything has meaning because of it.

So only new players in 0.9 and 1.0 and no one else? Cos..... what you are describing sounds a lot like a douchey safe zone for people who do not understand this game.

Look at EVERY marketing video CCP ever made: it shows people blowing each other up. Welcome to EVE, leave your carebear MMO preconceptions at the door and prepare to play like a hero.

Why is this still a topic for debate? Has everyone gotten dumbass disease or something?

Proposals, counter proposals, lets do THIS with high sec, lets do THAT with high sec, blah blah blah. I am reminded of a wonderful quote from a fairly mediocre movie. As one of Rip Torn's characters once said

Truly spectacular. Essentially you are attempting to close the barn door AFTER the horse has escaped. Only, you don't even have control over the doors, and its not your barn, and the horse wasn't yours either. CCP are NEVER going to change high sec in to a no fighting zone, for exactly the same reason they will NEVER shard the server in to PVP and PVE.

No where in EVE is safe, only mildly safer. If that concept is truly beyond your tiny minds then perhaps it's time you went off and played something more age appropriate, like play-doh, or maybe DUPLO. That is if you can resist the urge to eat either one of those.

I lolled...

Hi-sec has reward?

~80% of eve characters apparently think so Blink

I have 18 characters - cyno alts, scout alts, you name it. Most are cheap throwaways. 15 of them reside in high or lowsec. So while 80% of characters may think so, I suspect the number of players is somewhat lower. Blink
