With the continued indefinitly threat of hulkaggedon looming over players heads, and what may wind up being a monopoly of minerals by the higher player count corps. I was wondering if there where any plans in the works for armed and armored exhumer type ships.

As a mostly solo player that likes to mine occassionally, I'd like to be able to defend myself if the need requires that I do so and from a realistic standpoint, in a universe swarming with pirate factions, murderers and thieves, who in there right mind would go out in anything not equiped with at least some form of weapon?

I would suggest, at this time, that eve developers seriously consider taking a look at armed mining ships, maybe not quite as profitable, or more expensive then there non-armed ships (although, by default they would require more skills).

Have you looked at the racial battleship lineups? Quite a few of them can fit a bunch of lasers as well as a decent tank.

I am curious, actually, about the stockpiles of some of the crazy traders I've run into in game. I have nothing sarcastic to say, I just genuinely want to know how their stockpiles measure up

I have, the problem is none of them get mining bonus's.

In other words, it should be something similar to a hulk, with a few extra mid/low slows and some slots for guns.

I've never really understood why anything in eve would go anywhere without some form of weapon on, in all honesty.

the mining bonus is fitting 8 miner IIs and having a tank. of course, helps if you're with an orca too. most gankers will pass on trying to take out a 100M BS and find a paperthin hulk instead.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

If you want tank you have to sacrifice yield. That's the same decision anyone who PVP's has to make - tank vs firepower, tank vs. tackle, tank vs cap, etc etc. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

I don't mind sacrificing yield for the abiulity to either survive a salvo of smartbombs, or be able to kill an attacker, honestly

Considering the relative stability of all minerals in the middle of a drone nerf + hulkageddon inc., I'm gonna say the stockpiles of mins that have built up over the years of pre-Sreegs botting purge is nothing short of ridiculous.

Never understood that saying... I think it's perfectly reasonable to eat a cake that you have

Have a look at https://twitter.com/#!/ccp_diagoras
May 14th he posted the average account, on April 30th, had 7.1 million units of trit stashed.
Now, he made that clear that was active accounts.
Assuming 400,000 active accounts, that is a metric fuckton of trit.

But that just scratches the surface. My soon to be lapsed industrial accounts had minimal minerals in their possession.
The vast, vast majority was stored in the corporate mfg arrays at the POS's, or in corp hangars.

BS mining FTW....cept now you can make just as much as a hulk miner pre-mineral price buff. So effectively, for a miner, nothing has changed.

Math please.
Prove your statement with numbers.

The Rokh is considered the best mining BS.
Use that as your example, or any 8 turret BS.
Assume perfect mining skills for both the BS miner and the Hulk miner.

Start now. Prove away.
Oh, and please work with the assumption that the miner is operating solo and has to warp to station every time his hold is full.
