Some of my favourite moments were in CCP organised events. Not the big ones but the smaller ones which were more specific to groups like Ushra'Khan (Muritar), Blood Inquisition (Blood Wars)....not for the masses.

Sadly all that is gone now due to insider issues. It really made the NPC factions come alive and you could be part of it.

Think BoB got stuff from that. Had a good bit of help on what even was going on as you imagine...

Sad to see the inevitable futility of General Discussion swallow another interesting thread. I'll be contacting you Commisar, as live events around the actual universe's lore is something I've always been keen on.

When they let it slip out of Ultima Online as well, it was a sad day for that game. Nothing comes close to well executed live events, and there have been some (at least in UO, I unfortunately missed them in Eve). The last one CCP did was the Sansha invasions, I know they planned to pick up somewhere else and try again... let's hope that's still on the table.

EVE is marketed as a game where ''your actions have direct/tangible effects' etc... but what can be more involving and have more effect than changing the outcome of an official CCP driven stroyline??

Well personally I think it's more fun to be involved with the outcome of player driven content rather than some contrived and inconsequential scenario made up by CCP, like some kind of puppet show that has no bearing on how people actually play the game.

When CCP advertises the game, and how you can shape events, they're always talking about PvP and player driven content.

You defended some NPC freighters... thats cool, but where were you when Jita burned in the shadow of the CFC's tornado fleet? Where were you when the once invincible technetium cartel Northern Coalition was crushed by the Drone-Russian invasion?

Real history and real events are made by players, not CCP.

Thats kind of what the OP was pointing out. But of course you can be cheeleading for null if you agree with the OP.

New chrons with no gameplay relevence are useless. Events that actually impact the EVE universe are fun and engaging.

As for null, well, Alliance monopoly isnt for everyone and you should learn to accept that.

Had a few responses in-game and was told that there had been some interest in this post so decided to take a quick peek again...

Again please contact me in-game (mail or convo or join SEC:9 public channel OOC) if you have any interest in any of this. If we can get some heads together who are seriously interested then perhaps we can organise our own thing... or maybe even put this to a CCP Dev somehow? Never done anything like that so wouldnt know where to start but we shouldnt just write this off.

Thanks for all those who have contacted me/posted with interest
