So I've been gone roughly 4 years and looking to get back in to some casual gaming. When I left I was a miner but after logging in earlier I realize I've forgotten everything and gotta start new. So I did some reading and it seems its a dangerous time for miners. Where should I start out again.. was thinking of just getting in an osprey and just fly around and get reacquainted with the game again. Any advice would be welcome as I could use it as I relearn and find a new corp as it seems my old one is dead

If mining is your thing, you still have a place in EVE. Mining is fine and fully supported as long as you're in an industrial corp within an established alliance.

There is only danger for hi-sec afk miners who mindlessly play EVE single-player.

If you are a productive member of EVE society, you should have no worries about Hulkageddon.

Any recommended corps? And ya I don't afk mine.. as a parent I get called away sometimes but I just warp to nearest station till I'm done.

Mmm, there are loads of high-sec industrial corps out there. Look around in the recruitment section found here. Or post on that forum and see which corps & alliances respond to it.

Yeah, there's been a lot of changes to Eve within the past 4 years. If you haven't already done so, might be a good idea to run through the Tutorial and the 5 different Career Agents as a refresher course.

While it's true that Hulkageddon has been made permanent I would argue that it should now be possible to actually make a profit out of mining because of that fact.

Alternatively train up destroyer skills and learn to alpha those T1 exhumers. I believe the current bounty is 1bil ISK for every 10 mining barges scratched?
