I've worked it out.

As a UI change, it gives me all of my stuff laid out like a Windows Explorer directory tree. (A small, cramped one, if I want to be able to see anything else at all on the screen.)

Which means that moving items feels like I'm organising my file structure, not moving around my ~stuff~.
