Why not respond to the new emergent gameplay?

Just out of curiosity, why not an organized response to the new Goon sponsored "emergent gameplay"?

There is going to be a sh*tpile of whine coming in response to the Goons indefinite extension of Hulkageddon.

Why not take two or three months away from mining and organize to respond to it by taking the fight to the goons. Most miners could easily get into a BC and could probably afford to buy several dozen.

Five or six thousand angry carebears shipped up to battlecruisers could be pretty annoying.

If anything it could be fun. What the hell else are you going to do... mine?

Just a thought

Maybe because miners are interested in mining in the game, not PvP or ganking.

Just a thought.

There's never been a better time to start a war

Those who hold their profession sacred should fight to the death for it......NOW!

Hard to FC a carebear fleet when no one knows anything about combat ships other than they all can kill you. Big smile

EDIT: I was thinking today how cool it would be to hear about a massive pvp hulk fleet trying to force its way to VFK. I think I'd kill a midget to see the look on the first combat pilots face as local fills up with hundreds of carebears in hulk and then start yellowboxing him. It wouldnt matter if they all died, IMO it would be epic.

So close...

So, your solution for group A being harassed by group B is for group A to abandon their playstyle and adopt group B's playstyle?

By the same logic, Goons should be only attacking miners while flying mining barges themselves. And when I say "attacking" I of course mean "out-mining", not actually blowing up. See? It cuts both ways.

Honestly, the miners should be taking it to the players by killing any gankers until the gankers are forced to mine alongside them and make less money.

If miners were more innovative instead of playing like cattle, there'd be so much more opportunity!

My solution is to do something about it when somebody takes a dump on you.

Get into BCs and do what?

Hi-sec miners are an easy target because you know where to find them and you know they can't shoot back. What do you plan to do with 6,000 bcs? Who's going to coordinate them? You ready to take on the job? How do you find the gankers?

That's why Hulkageddon is the permanent event, and not Burn Jita. Everything is already set up for Hulkageddon to last forever. It's already been going on for six months or so, people just haven't given it a name before.

PVP in this game is mostly about the billboard, not at all about the fight. Killing miners makes your billboard look really healthy, and if you do the math right, you never lose anything that you don't know in advance you're going to lose.

Sitting in the belts and whoring on the killmails does nothing. Gankers already know they're going to lose their ships.

Yeah...so when a large, well-funded military machine comes at you and start harassing you, your solution is to take the fight to them, on their own turf, where they have the home field advantage? Go read some Sun Tzu, mate. A smart miner won't fight. He'll quit mining, or better yet quit playing. When CCP looks at their plummeting bottom line, they'll do something. That's called economic warfare. Why shoot Goons when you can shoot CCP, and have them nuke Goons?

In all seriousness you just need one guy who has a calm voice, knows how to call fleet align, warp, hold, jump and primary, and has the balls to tell all the whiny carebears in channel to STFU and listen. You've already been given your roaming destination...

There you have it. If nothing else, do it for the lulz. If you actually had 6k BC's you could have your way with any force you came across because you'd probably lock the system down with soul crushing lag.

The thing is...

Every time a pve/indy corp gets aggressed through a war dec or whatever and they decide to fight back, the following happens. They get together with the whole bunch in frigates, cruisers, bcs and the odd battleship. Then they strap on the faliest fit they can find on battleclinic. With much zeal, motivation, numbers and the idea that their enemy is outnumbered and outgunned they undock. And then, they learn that they know nothing about session timers, tracking, range, ewar, logistics, aggression, ship types, gun types, range of missiles, ammo, etc... And then they die miserably. Which isn't such a bad thing because we all have to start somewhere, but your average person who is forced to participate in pvp sees this differently. Smack ensues, followed by tear extraction and a **** storm occurs on the forums.

Not saying that this is the case with all pve corps. But getting solo miners to engage in any form of organized pvp is a sure way to set sail for fail. Especially if their target is supposed to be a null alliance like the goons. What good can come from this, other than more attention whoring the forums?

Yes, but you might have a little fun getting blown up. Who really gives a sh*t about forum e-peen?

From what I can tell from the above comments, the following are the choices for miners at this point:

  1. Sit in station and cry
  2. Log out and cry on the forums
  3. Unsubscribe and cry
  4. Get blown up and cry

I'm starting to understand why blowing miners up is so much fun.
