the "Find" feature is awesome and that's where I was looking at. The reverse lookup thing is also a great feature. I'm probably still planning too much and my life would be easier starting placing my CC's and eventually using your tool later on to maximize the production. PI mechanics still look a bit awkward to me, must be my dullness for sure.

Anyway, thanks for the tips, and most of all for your tool.

You are welcomed.

And I do agree that PI can be messy sometime.
One of the thing I hate the most is when you are submitting your extractor settings and the real value of extraction is nothing like the predicted.
Even with maxed PI scan skills the difference can be stupidly high.
All I hope is that someday they will change this for something a little bit more straight forward.

A new version with some new features is available.

The main changes are:

  • Added current cycle display in Planet Data popup
  • Added support to pre-fill Storages (Storage Facility, Launchpad)
  • improvements to the Run algorithm to make it more robust and take into accounts the pre-stored Resources.

The first one is just a minor display fix and some bugs fixes in the way the Planet Data popup was working.

The second one might interest more people because now you can make plans without extractors.
When you add a Storage (or edit an existing one) you will see a small icon inside the storage on the left side.

Click on it to open the Storage content (Screenshots)
In that popup you will see the current list of Resources stored.

Clicking on the 'Add' button will open the 'Resource Selector' popup.
In that popup you can select the Resource you want to add and it's quantity.
The volume of each Resource is shown because you cannot 'overifll' any storage.

Once you have prefilled your storages, you can simply run your plan like any other plan with extractors.

I hope you will find this new feature usefull. Big smile

A usual bugs can be sent to me ingame, or posted here.

Donations are always welcome to help me continue my work on the tool.
Not that I am greedy, it's just that I got emails from people asking me if I was still accepting donations. Lol

Great tool.

Two problems (possible related) with the update.

1. I'm unable to use the find tab to locate planets. I've tried multiple systems with all planet types selected and all sec. status options checked. I get no result. Possibly related is that I'm asked if I want to update the systems file every time I open the application.

2. If I hit "Port to Reverse Lookup" on the Find tab I get the following error:

System.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException: The given key was not present in the dictionary.
at ao.h(Object A_0, EventArgs A_1)
at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

If I'm doing something wrong just let me know.

Thank you for your bug report.
I forgot to upload the new version of the Systems.xml
Next time you will start the tool it should download the new version and then everything should be ok.

Sorry about that.
I completly forgot about the updates I did to that file. Oops

I fixed a small bug related to cache parsing.
The new version has been uploaded.
The archive will also now include the EVECacheParser.dll from Desmont McCallock.

I added 2 small features requested by Professor Frank'n'Furter:

  • The link in the 'About' popup is now clickable to open the website directly
  • Starting this version the tool will now completly auto update. For any future version, after agreeing to install the latest version of the tool, the tool will automatically download the new version, close and restart with the new version.

Version 7.1.4 is out.

  • Changed the error message to warning when the plan has some issues that can be ignored (routes with 0 product transiting,...).
  • Now a warning popup will appear and list all the problems in the plan. The structures with problems will be ignored when running the plan.
Note: the warning will show each time you try to run a plan with problems unless you check to ignore it. (To un-ignore it, just restart the UI)
  • Fixed a couple of potential exceptions

Nice... Can you make a similar tool for iPad and iPhone? Thanks.

Well unless you pay the license fee for the Apple development kit the answer is no.
I do not have money to spare for this.
Even though I would like to make a version the iPad and iPhone. Sad

I have downloaded the tool and set up a factory planet. Added all the routes and materials into storage etc. I opened the Planets Data window to run the simulation. I received the following message:

"Failed to run the production line.
The given key was not present in the directory."

What do I need to do to fix this?

Many thanks

Version 7.1.6 is out.

I fixed bugs reported by Arriaz related to prefilled storages and running the plan.
Things should be ok now.
