There are those in RVB who claim what they're doing IS "elite pvp". These are the guys who camp the opposing HQ undock 23/7 with their off-grid boosting alt and their on-grid cloaky alt providing eyes and warp-ins on the unsuspecting noobs they prey on. These same "elite PVPers" can often be found beating their chests in Local about how much better they are than everybody else and mocking the efforts of the noobs they pad their killboard with. Fortunately these "elite" few are easy to spot and even easier to ignore and, in all honesty, if this is the face of "elite pvp" in EVE, I hope I stay a Noob(with a captial N) forever.

Even EVE-Uni are better than RvB for learning how to PVP; except they do it the boring route, lectures and rants by old british guys who probably wear tophats. People even metagame in RvB, seriously? You need spys to catch a bunch of noobs in t1 cruisers flying around aimlessly? RvB is a group of noobs, in badly fit ships, flying around with bad FC's. When those noobs go to join a real PVP corp they will be rejected, because no, we don't want your PVP fit Augoror (teh ****?). Really the only good thing RvB is good for is for giving me cheap targets who can be guaranteed upon to fly badly, fit badly, and die in a blazing fire.

I need MORE, and RvB needs to change to accommodate ME.

Some of them learn to PVP ok, but other than that, why complain?

I think someone's application to one of the corps got rejected. Whose application? This guy's! Why else does it matter how people decide to pvp?

If the OP actually cared about how such groups decide to play the game then he needs to step up and create a corp for training players. That or join RvB with the intent to train the players to pvp on a higher level of efficiency. The biggest problem with pvp within the game is that a lot of people are just unwilling to do it because of the risk of losing stuff that they had, for good. To have groups of noobs flying around shooting at each other and having fun is something that should be viewed in a positive light. They might decide that they want to try and get a better set up so that they can kill more often then being killed and start looking for ways to improve. Even if they decided to move off to 0.0, the biggest asset is to have the willingness to pvp instead of having awesome fits without the will to fight. The willing noob can be molded by teaching them, and helping them with better fits; while the unwilling can have the greatest fits and best pvp theory around but absolutely unwilling to undock regardless of how easy a fight may be for them waiting outside the station.

1: where the **** did you hear that we were for elite PvP? I think RvB advertises itself as casual PvP. You know, FOR FUN.
I once joined a fleet op in a Velator. I had fun. I will never do this in "serious" PvP, but you can do it in RvB.

2: 1v1 are arranged fights. Those don't happen all that often in RvB. The two alliances seriously do try to beat the crap outta each other. Perhaps if you actually joined us, you would know this.

3: We fly battleships as well, just not for assaults on the enemy hq.

4: noobs fly around in shitfit ships because THEY ARE LEARNING. Idiot. We can (and will) of course give them example fits and stuff, but in the end, they usually have to figure their stuff out themselves. And if you don't try a crapfit, you will never know it's crap, right?

5: the FCs are here to learn as well. And we got plenty of awesome FCs that are fun and make a fleet op ten times more fun. Better than some of those "Look at me being seriously serious about my serious internet spaceships" fleet commanders I flew under in nullsec.

6: applying to a corp while you admit you have flown in RvB and now looking for some real PvP, would be a ticket in in most corps, glad they don't get a complete noob with 0 hours of PvP experience and thus don't need to explain a lot. Maybe correct some wrong fits and stuff, but it's better than starting from scratch.

RvB is PvP casual combat without anything depending on winning or losing.
How do you learn how to PvP in this corp? You teach it yourself. The basis of PvP is like always: experience.
What is better?
- buy 20 rifters, LOSE THEM ALL in low/null space, then with each ship, you learn something new.
or
- buy 20 rifters, fly them in RvB, lose them all in a relatively friendly environment without any security losses, possibly fly under fleets as well, and with each ship you fitted and lost, you can get feedback on how you performed from other people, while also learning PvP yourself as if you did the same in lowsec?

In other words: you have no fricking clue what RvB is, and probably just decided to hate it for some silly reason.
This will be good food for your troll appetite as well.

Less yappin', more zappin'!

The funny thing is for all the hate the OP has towards RvB, he is giving them a lot of cheap publicity.

As for the 'shitfits' chances are there are limitations on what they can use on a ship, either due to low (but growing) SP or isk. If they do not have a lot of isk to fit their ships, chances are they are going to look for anything to fill a slot that will give them some offense or defensive gain over having the slot empty. If you do not have a lot of isk and do not havea lot of SP yet, that just makes it worse.

of course the most important thing for anyone in rvb or any other casual pvp corp is to have fun. By the amount of activity that I have seen from rvb, I would say that their members are having fun, otherwise they would be elsewhere, simple as that. So is flying a shitfit bantam infinitely and having fun doing so better then being in a corp not having fun? I would have to say infinitely so.

Anyone who pvps before being able to fly a fully t2 fitted strategic cruiser is a moron. How dare these RvB plebians have fun.

Real pvp is about 10 to 1 blobs with booster pills and off grid boosters. How dare RvB fight for fun on relatively equal terms.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

Everyone should have an entry point- otherwise they get scooped up by 'industrial corps' and told to train Exhumers.

Is it just me or does OP have no thesis statement...?

1) If RvB is providing you cheap and easy targets to pad your kill reports, are you not happy about this?

2) You compare EVE Uni to RvB, which operate two entirely different forms of leadership training and also have vastly different views on 'how to play EvE' - are you wishing that RvB was more like EVE Uni?

3) Do you understand the point of RvB? Have you actually asked its leaders about the point - YOUR point is not THEIR point. I may think the amarr religion is pointless, but those who are in it don't. I don't try to run their religion...I just shoot them when they try to run mine.

4) Since you didn't really provide a solution - I'm not entirely certain you listed an actual problem - what is it you want?

RvB, to my knowledge, provides a perpetual warzone to immediately jump in and get blown to bits and...eventually...learn to blow others to bits. You have to remember that many of the noob players in RvB are totally ok with sucking at PvP.

I'll restate that in a more general form, since this usually applies to other areas too...Some people are ok with sucking at EVE Online.

They play RvB because they know little else of EVE and just enjoy the 'pick up and play' of going and getting blasted, then flying some missions to recuperate the costs. Or, as you might be surprised to know, some are veteran players that enjoy teaching others through trial by fire. And some just plain suck at EVE Online and RvB is a great place to go where nobody will tell you that and you can happily play your railgun fitted thrasher.

Now OP, if you are suggesting there should be a more refined PvP academy corporation - remembering that corporations need players to lead them and build them - I wouldn't start with RvB or EVE Uni: they have their methods and, really, one isn't trying to be an academy to begin with. Back to an earlier point - if it isn't yours, don't try to run it.

Instead - since you seem to have such a heart for the health and safety of aspiring capsuleers, why don't you propose the creation of a new corporation that will focus strictly on PvP. Considering the new FW changes, it might be prudent to use the militia as a staging ground...your call, Boss.

1) Recruit top talent to lead this academy. Many CEO's out there might be willing to help you so that the overall EVE population becomes better at PvP...a win win for all capsuleers. Ask them for help, and you might be surprised by the results.

2) Build the corporation with a sound, no-joking name. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to act so. Determine your staging location and the logistics you need to support the academy. Chances are you'll need to be able to reimburse ship losses at least at the frigate and cruiser level.

3) Promotion - it doesn't do any good if nobody knows its there. Use GD and War Forums to promote your new academy, both for new members and facilitators. Certain nullsec corporations might even help fund you...if you promote their corps to your trained recruits.

4) Long-Term Plan - see the big picture. What are you training them for? "PvP" is a poor answer. EWAR? Tackling? Bubbles? Capital Fleet Maneuvers? Ganking Miners? Ganking Transports? Gate Camps? Capturing FW Nodes? There's a lot to train for...so start small and work up, but have a plan on 'what is next' for the corporation.

How do you eat an elephant?
One bite at a time.

It'd be amazing if people would spend less time on GD complaining or pointing out the needs of New Eden and more time fixing said needs.

OP has a serious case of "Rectus Inflammus". I suggest a course of anti-inflammatory drugs and some all-round hugging.

"We will create the introduction thread if that is requested by the community. Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming.

OP sounds butt hurt. Did you just get kicked out of rvb for being an asshat?

I have learned more, in a month, about fitting ships and fleet ops in RvB then all my time spent in o.o
It is not the 0.0 supercap blobs where fighting is decided not by skills on field but #'s. In RvB, there is actual fighting going on.. At a pace that a new player can grasp.. And as you gain experience, the world of pvp opens up to you... It is what you make of it.
