There are probably a hundred ways to make money in eve, but I was just wondering:
With Hulks being ganked left and right, I need a different way to make money. Haven't played in a while, so what is a fun way to make some isk? Maybe there is a mining ship not worth ganking?

I want to stay in empire for now till I get a feel for the game again... before I venture out into deeper waters (low sec, 0.0)

I take it from this that you were a miner before. In light of this, you can try anything at all in this game and it will, invariably, end up being more fun than your original method of making isk.

Since Eve is a game of a HARSH UNIVERSE, then crime pays, and it pays well, being a carebear however, is 1) a grind and 2) doesn't pay as well.

You can make HUGE isk in a short time, whilest not constant, it still makes up for it in the amounts you make, sometimes you can make 1 or 2 billion in 10 minutes, some weeks you won't. You do lots of little things to make isk, steal, cheat, scam, trade etc.

You need to earn 500 a month to stay in the game, at least, and that is before you can even consider losing ships and so on.

But as I said you could make 1 or 2 billion in 10 minutes perhaps once or three times a month or two, more than enough to fund a few months play. Then you can focus on your main FUN activities.

For example, I've sold 1 billion contracts that cost me only 80m worth, ive scammed 2b worth of items for only 15m investment, sold 500m worth for only 100k isk :) Nice mark up isn't it... OR you could mine for 1 or 2 million per haul in a hulk, mindelessly and risk being ganked. I would prefer to be the ganker than the gankee :)

I would suggest roaming and exploring in a cov ops as soon as possible and be a ninja swopper salvager / looter then warp out / dock. You can make 200m easy doing that. Roam about, use Wspace to flutter about far regions of space, spot market oppertunities and double up your isk while you are roaming, and be patient on market orders, dont price war :) Find a quiet market region / system that needs some items, and mark them up heavily to get a huge BOOST in a fast time, you only need to sell a handful for break even that way, basically shock market tactics. You can earn 1 billion by slavaging in a few weeks easy without other means.

Crime pays in Eve, and it pays well, and most of all, its fun. Make your isk work for you, make it make its own isk simply by brute force on the market.

Alt's are hard work. I never understood the need to turn a game for fun into a job of hard work with multiple characters and accounts.

I've played with one char and one account and have had more fun and success than those with multiple chars and accounts, I don't get it.

You can have fun being SOLO, as I do, and ad hoc roaming fleets when you want group fun... or you can also go all the way for a corp / alliance.

Do both from time to time, I prefer to go adhoc and solo most of the time then I don't have to deal with as shat corp politics. If a corp demands you do this or that or the other, is that fun?


Thing to keep in mind, it is YOUR GAME, YOUR RULES, not other people's game. Nobody tells me how to play MY game, I decide, not them :) Do what YOU want to do, not what other people want you to do. After all it is your money/time. Not theirs.

Wake up one day, and do something different or what YOU want to do, not set a plan to do this or that, just go and do something fun. Grinding isn't fun, it's a chore.

I recommend suicide ganking. I use a 3 million isk catalyst for the vast majority of my kills, and my earnings from selling mods and t2 salvage from exhumers are trailing only a little behind my goonwaffe reimbursements. With both reimbursements and loot, it is more profitable to hunt miners than to run L4s or to rat/anom in 0.0. Given that Mittani has decided to make hulkageddon permanent, it's a no-brainer. This is the new PvE. You are the rats.
