Issues, Workarounds & Localization

So I start writing a reply to another post. It takes a while. I'm adding links, re-writing parts to best explain stuff. Really making an effort to help the OP.

I then click post. But lucky me I've taken too long to write said post, and I'm back to a new blank post window. Not a problem I think. Every time this happened with the old forums I just clicked the back button and got my work back. Not with the new forums! Back moves you back to the thread, and your work is gone. Forever.

This is extremely bad design that leads to immense frustration on the part of users. The old forums may have sucked in many ways, but at least back always got your work back when you took too long writing a post. No more *sighs*

Well, if CCP wants to waste my time destroying my long and/or involved posts I guess I won't be using the new forums, for fear of losing work. That's what I do with other forms this badly designed. I simply avoid them. Way to build a community CCP! You rock, as always.

It has happened to me, but on clicking back, I DO get my post back.


I'm using Google Chrome, that tends to be good about that kind of thing.
