Thanks to Steam Deal i have this awesome game + 30 days.
I really didn't do research when choosing my race/faction but i choosed gallente because it looked cool.
But after a bit of research i found out that caldari is best for PvP.
I play MMO for PvP so i was wondering if i should make a new character or keep playing my gallente because for me, PvP is all that matters.

How strange! My trollmeter is showing excessive readings.

Ignoring the claim that Caldari somehow would be best for pvp there are no need to create a new character. Everyone can train every skill and the race specific skills that you get at character creation are a few hours of training at most.
You can also do the tutorial chain for all races so even the free stuff you get from these does not matter.

The basic belief in EVE is that Caldari is the worst race for solo PVP. A lot of people would argue that because a good solo PVPer can do very will with Caldari.

Still you are much better off starting your solo PVP with Minmatar or Gallente. If I were you, I'ld work toward gallente T2 ships like the Ishkur and Taranis. Both extremely good solo ships.

Good luck

Caldari ships dont have to be good at PvP if you can't lock them ^^

@OP

Don't even bother trying to solo PvP. Join a newbie-friendly corp that gives out free ships and train to fly those. (Usually Rifters/Thrashers)

Something I am rather surprised no one has mentioned....no, don't restart. your race/faction only affects some basic starting skills, and all races can train for all skills. It wouldn't make sense to restart your character purely to affect a couple basic starting skills. If you would like to fly Caldari ships, go to the market, buy the relevant skillbook and begin training it. For PvP, I would recommend Minmatar ships, as in my experience they seem more heavily favored. Despite that, all races have their own ships that are extremely good at what they do.

Hmz must have missed the news flash where it says that Caldari is best in PvP and they kick the living **** out of Winmatar.

To OP:

Anybody can train any skills in EVE +
There is no best ship or best race, each ship is good in it's designed purpose.

J'Poll, you seem to be quite decent overall, but you call Minmatar "Winmatar" ... just bugs the crap out of me when someone does that.

@OP: No reason to restart your character. The only thing you'll get out of it is a faction frigate and faction weaponskill to level II plus all of the basic skills that everyone starts out with. So you'd be restarting over a training time of about two hours. That's a lot less time than it would take to rebuild your character from scratch, I would think.

Minmatar and Gallente tend to be the best at solo PvP, although Caldari have some excellent PvE ships like the Drake and the Raven. Minmatar ships, unfortunately, require you to learn a whole bunch of skills to actually be good at flying them (missiles and projectiles, shield tank and armour tank).

You can pvp as any race as long as you understand the Strengths and weakness' of the ship you are flying, and then choose your battles according to that.

Caldari are good at wining kiting engagements for example with there missile and range bonuses.

The thorax is a decent little cruiser for PVP.

However the Vexor has more fitting options for PVP and can put out more dps. With its emphasis on drones it can also pose a larger threat to frigates then the Thorax.

The incursus got its frigate buff along with the rest of them so give flying that a try.

Focus on getting your core skills up and get to tech II blasters. Smalls wont be hard to get.

Im shocked at the number of players this steam deal has brought in. Its all any one has talked about on New citizen Q&A for the past few days.

Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.com I Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers.

Indeed, loads of people see the offer on their steam update and try it out.

Some of them are good, others have a wrong view of what EVE is. But we should help them all, more people in EVE is always good as it means more people to interact with.

Welcome to EVE. Expect to have a steep cliff to climb if you want to become successful here.

Even if you do not plan on flying a Rifter specifically, this guide is just about the best around for newbies looking to learn the game mechanics involved in frigate PVP. I highly recommend it.

As others have mentioned, the Incursus is an incredibly good PVP frigate which is often under estimated.

I disagree. While fleet is fun, the real thrill comes from hunting your prey and finally locking them down. I get alot more out of the idea of accomplishing my kills solo than I do with a blob. I am still new to this game at about 6 months old, but plan on fully developing a solo career.

Picking your race based on personal opinion of what looks cool is exactly how you should pick the race.
It also effects the game the exact amount, it's purely austhetic
