I'm trying to decide which race to continue with, I can barely pilot a dominix but lvl 4s take forever cause my gun skills are very low. I want to be able to run lvl 4s and not worry about dieing. so im either going to restart a new race or go back and work on my certificates to get closer where I need to be for the dominix. I have a t2 tank but only t1 guns. according to eft I can tank anywhere between 400 and 800 dps depending on the faction, However my dps is only 280 with drone's so it takes forever to kill anything.

My strong points
t2 hammerhead
currently working on ogre 2s

so basically my question is How are the amarr battleships at lvl 4 or would I be better at going with minmitar to use my drone skills there or does the dominix ever get fast at running lvl 4s ? any advice would be appreciated.

With the new drone damage mods, the domi is viable all the way from first starting out with a massive tank and little in the way of gank, to massive gank and little tank. However, if you want to focus more on guns for dps, then the mach/vargur (starting with maelstrom) all work very well, or the abbaddon/apoc/paladin/nightmare if are flying in amarr space. But basically, no matter which race you go wtih there are viable PvE ships. Of course, if you want the easiest time of all, I recommend going tengu - gank isn't as great as a good battleship... but if you set it up right it can tank anything a lvl 4 can throw at you.

Guns are secondary on a domi, train for T2 sentries.

This domi does 897 dps with garde IIs and 732 dps with warden IIs. Its absolutely viable with T1 guns, and you can probably even get away wtih T1 sentries while you train up your skills. If you have tank issues dump a gun and a DDA for a second repper, its very hard to lose a dual rep domi. Drone damage amps have made most of the drone boats very competitive against the gunboats for PvE.

Amarr ships can do quite well at lvl 4 missions... if you mission in only Amarr space. Guristas will become really annoying, as when you're not being actively jammed, you'll be doing pathetic damage. Angels will also be quite annoying, but less so than Guristas. Blood/Sansha will die quite easily though.

My advice will be to actually stick with your Domi if you want to run missions, and keep on improving your skills with it. Pick up the Drone Interfacing skill if you don't already have it, as each level trained in it will make quite a difference.

can you guys take a look at my skills and give me a hint on where I should train next. I want to stick with the dominix so is 280 dps enough for starting lvl 4s I have a t2 tank and can dual rep just not sure if that dps will even take down a battleship.

From the skills you have listed, I don't see where the t2 tank is coming from.

Anyway as posted above the Dominix works best with sentries. Ogres can take a long time to reach their targets.

What you should not even consider doing is restarting a new race. It will take you a long time with the kind of skills I am seeing. No offense but you are lacking in support skills and no matter the race without them you will not be able to perform.

After interfacing IV - Gallente Spec to IV and then Drone Navigation IV - Drone Sharpshooting IV - Drone Durability IV - Work for T2 Sentries next.

Forget about guns it will take you ages before you are even halfway there.

Umm, Your Support skills are weak, regardless of race.

Also with what you posted, you cannot even fly a frigate (No spaceship command skills, i guess something went missing when you copied ...).

What is clear from your skills above, you cannot armor tank very well (armor repairer level I (?), mechanics III, hull upgrades IV) and barely shield tank (not my field of expertise). The only T2 armor tank module you may fit with above skills is a DCU II, for Active Ts hardeners you need hull upgrades V, for a T2 armor repairer you need Mechanics V and armor repair systems IV.

AND you must fly your Dominix with medium guns .... Not a single large turret skill shows in your list (only hybrid would be bonused).

1) You need more core skills regardless of which racees ship you choose.
2) Drones are more important on the dominix, and you want to have lights, mediums, heavies and sentries on it, to be tactically flexible.
3) Work on your tank skills to get a T2 tank (but a T1 will do. I guess people ran Level 4 before T2 was availiable)

With a Dominix You get bonuses to large hybrid turrets and drones (and the ones on drones is bigger)

PS: Starting from scratch is a BAD idea in Eve, nothing prevents you from just learning what you miss, BUT you will have to relearn the same core skills ...
