I believe that, but I still firmly believe I should be able to play and be successful with only one account, regardless of who is paying for it.

FYI, I'm still convinced that this game would be MUCH better if they made it where you could only have one account.

Doubt that'll ever happen, though. People would have to work together, then.

I dunno, I tend to work alone alot. I'm one of those people that likes to play MMO's solo. For me ts like going out for a sunday drive and being around all the other drivers on the road, but other than seeing and being seen, I have no interactions with them. P

EDIT:

Because "I'm so mad, I'm unsubbing my 1 account that I pay for with PLEX anyway" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Hehe, that's how I feel too. Hell, I just like to fly around sometimes. The background sense of aliveness in EVE is brilliant. Just looking at the map with the various filters, knowing that somewhere stuff is happening makes the place feel like a virtual world, and a great backdrop to my own pootling about. The spice of trying to avoid being ganked in dangerous places (e.g. missioning in low sec) adds tremendously to the fun.

(I just never have the regular hours/subscription to be able to commit to corps and larger scale activity, but I still enjoy what I do in EVE, so long as I have a skill plan and something to work towards, and I always come back to EVE no matter where else I roam in MMO land.)

Oh, forgot to add, about a year ago I got another acount, and it's lots of fun to have two. Not least is that you can TALK TO YOURSELF IN SPACE Big smile

I also have just one account. I've considered opening another in the past but lately EVE has been little more than an IRC client/skill queue nag to me.

Yeeee!

Ah ****. If you asked this a few months ago I would have said that I only have one, but for some daft reason I decided to train a freighter alt.

PLEX come from thin air, CCP is not paid for the plex, the sellers just create them.

PLEX are paid for with ISK. Derp. I bet you didn't know that.

Someone should teach me the secrets of making PLEX to sell for isk without having to pay CCP ^___^

Oh right, you can buy plex for isk and resell it for isk. But where's the plex faucet !

The plex faucet is in my wallet.

I have 4 but as others have eluded, it isn't always the best way to go. Had I stuck to one, I could have half a trillion ISK right now using that sub money for PLEX.

Capital and carrier books for you is 800 mill. It's 3.2 billion for me.

It's all relative.

I only play on one account but I made a 2nd account via Power of Two because it was so cheap.

After the 6 months or whatever I'll decide if I want to sell the pilot or keep funding both.

That's kind of the main reason I don't run my other accounts no more, I simply got sick of grinding for isk only to spend it on plex to fund other accounts, leaving me with very little to spend on toys and having fun in the game. Nobody really needs more than 1 account, though 2 accounts is handy for moving ships safely but that's about it.

Your tears will be harvested

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

One account here, you are not alone.

I figure why pay for two accounts to play the same game. I know there are benefits to multi boxing, but I'd rather find another player to help me, then multibox on my own. That is my personal opinion though, and I have no hard feelings towards multi boxers...as long as its not bots.

If you only have one, don't make another! After you start multiboxing, it's too late to stop Roll

I've quadboxed on occasions, and wish I couldn't. Unfortunately multiboxing in w-space is just incredibly beneficial, especially in a smaller organisation, and even though I'd like to go back to just one account, I can't see it happening soon. Ideally I'd find corp members to full the roles of my alts.

Multiple accounts are a great equalizer, makes it possible for a new player catch up fast. I've played only since Boxing Day 2010, but have now about 80mil SP in total, each point very much tailored especially for living in wormholes.

The biggest downside to multiboxing is loss of immersion. Sure, it's awesome to be in two places simultaneously, but flying only one ship feels so much more like... being there.

One account.

Often I'd appreciate a scout when solo, as most of my "bad luck" happens at gate camps. But it's an interesting challenge to try to come up with solutions to increase my odds.

I sometimes wonder how much cooperative industry actually goes on in this game. It often seems like players are handling every part of the economic chain by themselves via alts, from gathering/production to transport to marketing, which kind of dilutes the need for a corp at all other than as a social structure.
