good to hear you like inventing in a station, with only a hand full of items. Have you tried doing it in a pos, because that is where the problem starts...


And what exactly was the issue before? And how is this now fixed and making you do it all faster...



Opened my corp hangars in POS to reset research. Holy F**king S**T batman it was bad. I couldn't remember which hangar was which and couldn't drag to separate.

i'm still not sure, if i should like or dislike the new inventory UI.

I guess, it's just a matter of habituality, therefore i'm still in a situation named "give it a try..."

Most of it has to do with being accimated. Just the normal habit of right click and you select drone bay, select corp bay, select maintenance bay. It took me about 30 minutes to readjust to how all my windows opened on my carrier. But that was simply due to habits. One complaint I have seen is people complaining about the clicks. Personally, I find the right clicking dragging in context menu, etc to be more of a pain.

This is especially true in battles. If I need to check ammo, that is trying to speed click in context menu to get cargo bay open, now it is just hotkey alt-c When I need to move stuff around from corp hangar containers to personal hold, it is just awesome since the tree thing will show my various storage containers that I use to filter stuff "DRONES" "BOOSTERS" "FUEL" I can see, and just shift and click, get whatever I need and fast. Also can open multiple corp hangars for easy transfer between them now.

In function, it is awesome, but some people have difficulty changing habits, and that is where the problem lies.

So you didnt use the old system properly- it took you 2 windows to do this, wich actual took less space then you need now. You could actual do it in one window- with 2 tabs on the top. The old systeem also idnt give you tabs/lists ofcontainers en other hangar stuff you didn want to acces.

Old system click button left t open hangar, select all containers open all, double click on ship- drag stuff on the tabs of samewindow your shipcargo opend.

New system: ...Start scrolling and looking at every accesable container,ship and corp hangar. Clicking back and forth to checkcargo, space available etc

How many hangars did you have and why didnt you rename the labs... Makes it easy with names ontop of your hangar windows;)

Also maybe head over and look at poses... they are 100% ******... go into a fleet fight... takes 40sec to load the damn UI...

i dislike it with salvaging/looting

as wen i loot a wreck it go's back to my cargo hold making looting/salvaging a pain
the inventory crap should not aply to wrecks/cans in space

also if used within a pos we should be able to name the ship array's and corporate array's so we can see were we drop our crap

my 2 cents

It sure isn't perfect but it really is an improvement over the times I'd get crap tons of windows to the point that i was giving up on trying to find a designated place for any of them. Tabs worked but they never were that effected since their names were cut off so badly when ever you had any more then a few tabs and the tabs themselves were small.

The new tree entries are small too but the whole list is more prominent and it takes care of a lot of organization for me.

As I mentioned in another thread even the loading process is better for me. Even if it takes longer to load a POS than before I now at least have some sort of visual confirmation that it's still loading and that I haven't DCed or the whole corp hanger has been cleaned out (usually moved to another POS as we were upgrading towers last month) and I haven't figured it out yet.

Looting stuff is still iffy but it's on CCP's todo list and I figure they could have it fixed and patched in at least by the end of the month. Once that's done they could just work on bugs and loading times and I'll be happy :D

Didn't they just add that last part? (To which I am cheering about cause I'm sure we all wanted this before the new inventory)

The New UI has introduced more clicks and button presses than the old PI did .. FFS

Just give me an option to revert to the old look and feel , when life was simple and all i had to do was drag n drop without messing about .

I agree on the "not beeing able to read the full names of your containers" - it was a flaw in the old system HOWEVER
I just made the width bigger on my window - while now i cannot hide the treestack and have to actualy keep it open in every window aswell... -> and each treestack giving me the same information ( 90% of the things listed in every window is information i dont actualy need!) *

No i can't close the treestack because i work in corp hangars and have to swap and shift things across hangars...
I await your solution - horizontal tabs on the top of my window was the least space consuming compared to the system now.

Personally, i don't like/dislike the new inventory system, but i'm damn sure hate the stupid market data and lookup preloads, why's an inventory system, which is supposed to be instantly displayed whenever i press alt+C suddenly takes forever to load on certain times, doesn't make sense.
