New UI idea

So here is my idea on how to make this unified inventory work to make everyone happy.

On the NeoCom, you would add a new Inventory object (window). This window has a menu that lets you choose which inventory to display in the tree. Something simple like a checkbox list.

I for example, could create a window to display Ships, and Hangar Items.. EVE will then show that window in the same location each time, and will only show those items in the tree. (or CCP could be really cool and give us an option to display Treeview or Tabview)

I could then create another window, (NeoCom Object) for Ship Cargo and Drone Bay. That window will save it's location and state accordingly.

People who love the Unified system could just create one neocom window, and check all items, which would display everything in one treeview.

If you've ever used MMC in windows, it's a bit like that. Just a generic window that you add objects to, and the save the position and state as a shortcut.

Whoa. The artist here tries very hard to achieve the "awesome idea in wrong forum section" theme, even including some very popular themes such as strange punctuation and confusing "it's" and "its". However, it ultimately falls flat on its face for a few reasons:

  1. It uses paragraphs. That empty space could really be filled with useful letters.
  2. It presents a parallel case where the idea worked, and arguments for how it would work. Who wants to read that?
  3. The idea itself has not been proposed before. Being a pioneer is sometimes good, but for a really good work of art, the tried and true are often more successful.

The most important part though is that the artist bumped her own post, and even implicitly asked to be trolled. That is just not acceptable, and the forum art community disapproves of this irresponsible behavior.

3/10. Try harder next time, kay?

Edit: Upon closer inspection, the artist has unnaturally big boobs, so that has to count for something. 4/10.

Been logged in for 6 hours now and have done one 5min mission. Thats how over I am with the UI. Just go back to the old system. Problem solved. Any new ideas will take them a month to create and a week of complaint to revert back to the system that actually works. Why don't we skip all that bs and just go back to the working system right now?

You just can't get the staff these days. And there I was hoping for a truly awful idea backed up by more whine than all the cheese in Gloucester could soak up and what do I get instead, something bloody reasonable.

I'm utterly furious, can you tell?

That is partly why I docked points, yes, but I can't give away everything that tickles an aspiring art critic in the right places now, can I?
