Question for a DEV -or- 100 MIllion ISK if you can answer this, w/ proof.

I have a very specific question regarding a combination of certain module activations, on the same tick.

Okay, this is probably best directed towards a Dev, but since they are most like busy, I'll open this to the forums.

Say, I am in say a Tornado, and I want to suicide a Tengu on the undock. (For this hypothetical scenario, let's assume Concord is on grid.) I am contemplating whether or not to stack Tracking Computers, or add a Target Painter.

Now my Question; IF I activate my TP and my 1400's at the same time, get the prompt to commit a criminal act, click OK, and shoot, does my 1400's get the signature bonus bloom from the TP, (assuming they go off at the same time) if they are activated on the same tick? Is the TP on the ship when my volley gets there?

(Might seem like nit picking, but I had a ridiculously close call today, and it made me contemplate changing my setup.)

I did some testing. Doesn't look like it increases the sig. My results are pretty ****** though.

I pretty much just shot an armor punisher with a 425mm cane 20 times under 3 circumstances. First with no TP to set the control. Then with TP on constantly. Then activating them in the same tick.

If i remember correctly the target Painter needs to run a cycle for it to count and we all know that the Tengu have stupidly low sig radius. you may be better off with multiple Target Painters or tracking computers

I know he wants it, but i need a definitive answer. and the response he provided made me start wondering more things.

Really? This is the first time I've heard of this. So your saying that it needs to complete a cycle before a ships signature gets the bloom bonus?

I've gotta check this out.

The answer would be maybe.

In general the answer is yes if the server does it at the same time. If however it is based on the order you selected the modules, then the answer would only be yes if you selected the TP first. And the opposite if it does them in the reverse order.

Can't answer the question more until a Dev says what way the server does things.


And I've tested the TP taking a cycle, and it appears to be another EVE myth. Seems to apply the first cycle.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Hi, thanks for your input,

This occurred to me as well, but TP doesn't show up in log, so I substituted one form of E-war for another. I used a warp disruptor and guns, rand the modules hot, and selected my target.

Turns out, that the volley gets there before the Warp Disruptor does. If this is any indication of other E-War, then I'd would assume that the same applies to the TP.

I've also, tried selecting the Warp disruptor and then the guns, like you had suggested, but the results were the same, the volley got there first. (according to the logs)

Edit: and well, the logs are only accurate to the tick, so in all cases I tried this, and i tried to replicate it several times, each time the Warp Disruptor activated after my guns shot off a round. So again, there's a mystery in the tick .
