Continues to fail on uploading patch at 3/4

What is the fix?

Is there a direct download site? Launcher is a problem.

EDIT: *Reply from my petition* Make sure you follow the direction they give ya. It works.

I second that. With external patch it would be 2 times faster for me to apply update - launcher downloads with speed of about 500kb/sec. It failed at 90% second time now. Why no offline patches, CCP, why?!

I'd like to get rid of the launcher altogether. a patch that used to take a few minutes now takes twenty minutes to an hour, because the Launcher Downloads the patch, assembles the patch, copies the files then finalizes the patch. Before theLauncher, I started EVE, it asked if I wanted to download the patch, I say yes, 30 seconds later I click OKay to restart the client and I'm done.

the launcher takes five minutes to ONLY download the patch.

I had to abandon playing EVE on my Ubuntu box (Better graphics card, bigger screens) because the Launcher epically FAILS on it.

Please, CCP, give us the old patching system back or a=something similar.

In any event if the prelauncher works that's great.

What I linked in the third post will work for the peeps that have issues.

Good luck, have fun.

You are aware that hardly anyone has an issue with the patcher?

Maybe, just maybe it is something on your end?

Yeah... Tried that. The patch I manually downloaded per your link was opened by the launcher and the issue repeats itself.

as of now, It's been over an hour since I sat down to play EVE and I'm only at step 3/4, 51.6%.

*sigh*

Do not know what to tell ya, I unzipped it. Went to the C:\Program Files(x86)\ ******* yadda yadda and placed the file I needed directly into it. As instructed by the link.

Exited out of that file, relaunced the the EvE and pow. entered in eve game.

For the rest of you folks that did not have an issue, I am really really happy for you. Please stop commenting. This thread is for the ones that have an issue. You commenting is not solving the problem.

Thanks

The download from the launcher crashed my computer and now the launcher is not working.

It's downloaded and up now. I went to the eve folder on my computer and used the repair exe.

That pre loader is real pain at times. lol

Well tryy restarting the comp and download the zip drive you need from the link and place it where it is needed.

Then try to relaunch.

I had the same launcher-failure issue.

I went into Windows Firewall (for those of you using Windows) and added launcher.exe as an allowed program. Launcher worked after that. Seems this last update changed enough that Windows didn't recognize it and blocked it's internet access by default.

As part of my debug I saw a 404 file not found error. If you're not seeing that then the Windows Firewall trick may not work for you.

MemoryError: out of memory

Omitted some frames in the middle. I guess these are important at the end:

self.patchFile = u'R:\\eve\\EVE_Online_395875-395875_win.patch'
self.url = 'http://cdn1.eveonline.com/395875/RepairData_395875.dat'

And I've got 4GB of memory in a 32bit Windows, so the problem is not with my memory.

Costa coffee is not in fact superior to Starbucks

That is all you need to know to fix this problem
