fire up the UI, make any ship or the hanger active.

Pick any cargo ship. Open the cargo bay of said ship in new window, do not make it the active ship. Look at where the little blue cargo capacity bar is, And lo and behold, it is giving you the wrong value. It's not taking into account any skill training or expanded cargo hold.

ie An inactive Badger 2 is showing a value of 5250 cubic metres. Make it the active ship and it gives the correct value, 10K + cubic metres.

Just checked, You can't load more than the base cargo ammount into a cargo ship if it is not active.

Makes click and drag a bit pointless.

I would ask a sarcastic question about how much testing you lot did, but I am going to be polite.

Hate to burst your bubble, but this isn't a new bug - it's an old one, and the new UI system just makes it more visible/obvious. Ships in hangar have ALWAYS reported the base hull cargo and drone bay capacity when they're not active - eg 30k for an Orca, 0k for a T3, the base no-skills drone bay for the Ishtar, cargo capacity for haulers, etc.

In that case then, why after all the time and effort that has gone into the new UI is it still bugged. I'd never noticed it before, probably because I never used drag and drop on a menu tree before. It was always a case of opening the cargo bay windows side by side and moving stuff over. As you say the new UI makes it more apparent.

So I hate to burst your bubble, the fact that it is an old and "accepted" bug makes it worse than if it was something the new UI had thrown up.

The only solution I can think of would be to apply pilot skills to every ship in the hangar - this poses its own set of problems, particularly if that's extended to any ship with a maintenance bay - say the Orca pilot has Gallente Industrial V and his buddy has Gal Indy 3 - which capacity value does the Iteron I in the maint bay report? The Orca pilots? The miners'? Less of an issue on a solo level in a personal hangar, but once you scale things up it gets messy.

If anything, I think that the effects of cargo rigs ought to be applied regardless - the rigging skill doesn't increase their cargo capacity, so there's far fewer variables to account for.
