This is a new feature to curb jita scamming. people must use ship language outside dock to communicate their intentions.

yep, login then logout and your corp and local chat will disappear! jump gates and they randomly appear and disappear again!!
WELl done CCP, how the hell am i mean to play the game without any chat windows?

My local just completely stopped working, displays list unavailable for members in system and doesn't show any messages.

Incarna might have sucked ****, but at least it didn't render the game totally non-functional.

They removed local and corp in the new patch, get over it.

On one account all chat windows seem to be in order, on the other one they're all gone.

Is this happening just to characters in Jita? I have an alt there and no channels appear but on others in different places seem fine (for now).

definitely intermittent

All I have is random ghosts of other characters persisting in chat after they log

but I still have all available chat channels and what appears to be an accurate pop count and zoning does not seem to break them
can't really tell if they are working since people hardly talk here

Same here, all my chat windows are gone now.
Also: When I opened one of the chat windows again manually, all my 3 characters of this account appear in the chat. Its very annoying and also my friends see those characters, so its not on my side.
Also: Cache clean is useless...

You have to actually lean out your ship window and use semaphore.
