Hey, at least it's not a boot.ini problem.

Relax, go out for a walk, or a shower, or both.

The unforseen cannot be quality-controlled, no matter how good you are at it. If you do not know this basic fact then you have not been in an intense software production environment for too long.

Regardless of the testing on the test server, there will always be something going wrong on the day of launch, I don't care how good you are or think you are.

It's Murphy's law and it's real.

I've already had a shower this week, and I've been pacing the path between my chair and my stash of Dr. Pepper cans all day.

I'm no spoiled brat I'm a man in my 30s who looks after a house and my family.

It just makes me laugh because if CCP was a British company it would have gone under along time ago. When something is said to be online at a certain time I expect that time to be honoured as with any company if that promise is not upheld then compensation is a rather normal route to go down.

I do not expect things to go perfectly every time but as I said previous the video that was released last week spoke about "finishing touches" which in my book means everything is working as we'd hope and are now completing it ready for launch.

What finishing touches means to CCP apparently is : We rushed this out and it broke as soon as it went live.

That in turn means there is zero quality control.

This is a very bad thing for any company wanting to survive.

Why don't you just make your own MMO and run your own updates with perfect 0% failure efficiency?

That actually makes me wonder if there are pirated eve servers.

So close...

Maybe a little karma from the Diablo III jab. =)

Either way, who cares. Go to work. Take a shower. Do... something.... useful. You'll thank yourself for it.

I remember when a expansion deployment took 24 hours in this game, stop being so ungrateful about everything your whole life.

Royal Bank of Scotland and Northern Rock would like a word with you sir, now that was failure on an epic scale.

Minor hiccups in a patch deployment are the norm in the gaming world, Like the poster above I can also remember Eve being offline for the best part of 24 hours during a patch, and if I remember correctly we got some free SP from that.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I'm so glad that I'm at work right now.

By the time I get home, all this will be resolved and it will be beautiful in the world.

Right?

Indeed. Just look at the bright side, it means new players continue to join this lovely game. Only new people can complain so hard because of inccident in a patch day. Blink

And to the Topic starter, don't worry, we might have other "issues" during the day, maybe even tomorrow. Go outside, go to the pub and relax. Cool
