Incarna's Vision Is Having Hardware Problems

I am not talking about hot video cards...

I have been wondering what proportion of the EVE Online player base, have computers that can render dozens of unique entities in the same room. Secondlife graphics is not exactly next generation computing, but it gets the job done and performs the role in which it was intended to perform.

It seems to me that players would have been ecstatic about "Playstation 2" graphics and a bar that they can walk into in order to watch strippers dance. Booze that you can drink that lowers your charisma (and a wobbly graphic to go with it) and a gambling platform for ISK and perhaps Aurum.

Yea?

It seems like Incarna is aiming too high, and too soon...
When EVE was launched it was the original client... it was no where close to the graphics that we have today.

I for one would be ecstatic with an Eternum that can walk around looking like Kratos in terms of graphical rendering and environment. I think that all of you would be to. It would be far less time consuming to base incarna off of "slightly older technology" instead of "cutting edge" and upgraded it a few years from now, just like CCP did with the Trinity expansion.

Sense, it makes some?

Aiming too high too fast may set Incarna up for even more failures in the not to distant future.
If for no other reason then most of our computers won't be able to run it well.

Food for thought Dev/GM's when you read this.

What?!?!? I thought booze gives you extra charisma! At least that's how it feels. I thought all those women turning me down was because they were jelly!

Why 5 years ?
A computer from 2 years ago can run CQ on max without problems.

I turned the graphics settings all the way to low and it helped a lot on my laptop. I was even running 2 clients in windowed mode, the same installation, both in CQ for a while. I was making them stand next to each other, even though tragically, they were worlds apart.

Um...

I don't think you guys are getting what I mean.
Highly individualized rendered characters, all docked at the same station and interacting in the same room, is not as easy as it sounds.

"Future" Incarna.

I don't think anyone has said otherwise which is probably why we haven't seen full incarna yet.
If it was easy then we would have had all of it.
