Just curious as to how most people tank theirs.... seems 2x boosters small works well for me but, can you use a medium just as well?

Is there any advantages to going with a medium booster?

Buffer fit tengu???

Using a medium booster frees up a slot for something else. I have used a std med T2 booster for pve and works well.

I use a T2 fit with a med shield booster for PvE, since it's cheap and tanks everything I encounter with ease. I know many use faction mods to beef their tank to ludicrous levels, but unless you're a really bad pilot or do the harder 0.0 sites/WHs, T2 fit is all you'll ever need. I don't think it has any performance advantages, but it's cheap and therefore not an attractive gank target. The buffer of an active tanked tengu isn't exactly good, so too many faction/deadspace modules makes you a gank magnet.

for level 4s one small booster works fine. I used deadspace ones (think I paid 25mil for a pith-b type ages ago), but tbh a t2 one would probably work most of the time. tengu gets crazy damage reduction from speed/sig tanking.

I have done number of 8/10 Gurista plexes with a small b or c type booster, the one which costs around 80kk

I really don't understand why people waste billions to tank tengu

Probably because most of those don't understand Tengu gives the best of it with subs and related skills at 5

Probably because everyone not flying those don't have a clue how different are an all 5 T2 fit Tengu and a faction dead space all 5 one.

Then you read "Tengu is overpowered"

Medium Shield Booster is fine, a little more cap intensive but the main problem you'll run into is cpu problems, which is why the best investment is a Pithi C-Type Small because its the cheapest deadspace small booster and it'll allow you to stick 4 T2 BCUs in the lows, the rest of the fit can be T2.

Have tried a few ways to fit for tank. I found however the 100AB works best for me.

i've been soloing C3 anoms with one gist a-type small which i got for ~150mil. the way i see it, there is no situation where you would need anything bigger than a small deadspace booster on a tengu.

I should buy an Ishtar.

A Domi or CN MSB works well for me.

Because let's face it, 90% of the time you're effectively passive-tanking anyway, so the booster is mostly for topping up.
