Complacency by CCP Makes Hulk Hunt Event POSSIBLE

The reality is this is not good for Eve Online in anyway. The events like this are driving the Eve population down more and more each year and each event. There is nothing OK or enlightenment with TOS when orchestrating mass grieving gank platoons to go around killing innocent and paying customers and ruining their game play experience. This is detrimental to the Eve Universe and when Eve goes belly up and there is No game for any of us to log in to you will all remember this post.

i was a miner for 2 years straight. i'm now a proud member of RvB and i'm enjoying the hell out of pvp.

what i've come to realize is that you must embrace events like hulkageddon. this is a purely player driven event. this wasn't some lame quest from that game that shall remain unnamed, but an event dreamed up and realized by one player, then later supported by thousands.

this, imho, is what makes eve beautiful, and what separates us - eve players - from the rest of the mmo gamers out there.

ccp has given us the chance to decide what to do in the game. we're not told where to go, how many fluffy bunny hides to retrieve, or which weapon we need to grind dungeons endlessly for, but only handed a sandbox. a big, beautiful, wonderful sandbox.

People quit EVE because they get tired of waiting for CCP to make it a better game when you war, 0.0, lowsec, mine or run missions etc. If not for events like these the game would be dead by now. Want miners to stay? Start by making it interesting enough that you wont watch tv and read books with the game minimized, because after awhile a person could get the idea to just keep it turned off and quit to save time and money when watching tv and reading books.

What I really don't understand and bare with me here..why is it suddenly decided that the Hulk event was even a bad thing? Or Burn Jita? Maybe it's because I haven't lost a ship to these events and never truly experienced pain within this game. (R.I.P first Vexor, I miss you. ;( ) But really..it's like..this is why I joined EvE, why is causing massive amounts of destruction a BAD thing?
