Is there a circumstance under which a planet doesnot have a custom office at all even tho there is a colony on it with a startport? I built a colony on a planet and no custom office appeared after i built a startport. I was told to destroy and rebuild the starport, which i did few times, but still no custom office. Its a nullsec system.

You will need to install a customs office.

My guess... An alliance popped the interbus customs office. They either did not replace it, or... Another alliance popped their customs office. You now have to replace it, but on the plus side... Your corp will set the tax rate.

You need a customs office gantry (~80 mil give or take) plus 8 units of 4 different P4 materials (The info tab on the gantry will tell you what items are needed). All said and done, a POCO will cost about 100 million (if buying from a high sec trade hub). It is also bulky as heck so getting down to null may be a bit risky unless you have safe way to ship it.

In order to launch the poco you need to have anchoring rights for your corp. Warp to the planet in question and right click the gantry in your cargo. Select "Launch for Corporation". This puts the gantry into space. Right click it again and select anchor. You only need Anchoring rank 1 to do this.

Once anchored (should only take a few seconds) right click it. Select "Open Upgrade Hangar"
Move the four stacks of P4 products into the hangar and click upgrade.

The upgrade will take 30 seconds. After it is finished, it will pop into a full blown POCO.

You can now right click it to set the taxes as you desire. You can now also import and export goods from the planet.

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

thanks for the replies. I was told that interbus custom offices are supposed to respawn if there is no player one in orbit.

LOL, somebody took you for a ride. They don't respawn.

Confirming.

COs were converted to Interbus COs to avoid the PI market collapsing when POCOs were introduced. It was a one-time affair. They don't respawn.

Some people destroyed them just to have a killmail for one. Others destroyed them because they knew it would cause tears.

* Interbus Customs Offices will not be de-spawned and will remain until destroyed.

Note that in null sec if someone feels territorial about the space you wish to put up a customs office in they will kill your poco unless you get their agreement. Where I used to fly in Great Wildlands although it's all NPC space there are locals who live there who feel ownership of the space.
