I see alot of claims about miner tears but I really don't see many of these elusive threads. I've seen several come and go, off to the dustbin of page (not one) about wanting a bit more powergrid and buffer tank on expensive hulls but not once have I seen a thread asking to make it hard or not possible to lock a barge in high sec.

You create this imaginary enemy and you invent their tears. One might suggest the griefers try a single player game. You really don't need active players to kill. It's all in your mind from the onset.

Griefer - bored player who is looking for easy quick kills for enjoyment.
Miner - player who likes mining or can't stand missions or other ways to make ISK in game.

What needs to be compared.
Miners are a target sitting in a belt for hours every day, why does it surprise anyone that the griefer likes killing them.
Easy to find and the least amount of work compared to other possible targets.

What needs to be discussed for the 9,000th time ?

GANKERS are constantly whining about how badly done too they are, you know the kind the empire griefers / ganker kind.

Evaluation

The GANKER

  • They mission to make isk, may it be on their main or alts
  • A majority of them don't pvp in low sec because there is easier pvp in high sec
  • They exploit so there is no consequences to sec loss in high sec with the use of the orca, thus pulling them out of low sec for more easy kills in destroyers.
  • They whine that low sec pvp is dead
  • They post tear threads on these forums about miners
  • They get something new in every single patch


The Miner

  • They mine all day, they like to relax in the vastness of space while they do so
  • They build stuff that everyone buys
  • They never go in low sec
  • They get ganked & war 'DECCED
  • They whine about it
  • They post tear threads on these forums about it
  • They rarely get new things in expansions but new blueprints to build stuff for the pvpers

I might have missed a few things, so please state them an i'll add them into it.

The Inferno expansion 22nd May

The GANKER

  • New improved FW
  • You will get paid LP to PVP
  • The merc market



The Miner

  • New war DEC mechanic means war DEC'S cost more


Conclusion
Both gaming styles have their own ups and downs, but going from the above the miners seem like the little orphaned child who never gets presents. And the GANKER children whine and get everything they want.

Now you will say it's a sandbox however a sand box must have rules, or it wouldn't be where it is today without them, yes ganking will always be allowed and so will mining BUT when ganking involves no penalties something needs to be done, else whats the point of concord? Eve is about industry, it is like a market simulator and war drives that simulator.

Now to those of you who complain about CCP turning into carebear online, please think to your self who the real carebears are.. The war DEC costs hasn't nerfed anything it has just made it more difficult isk wise, lets face it the old 1 mill isk for a war DEC was a joke.

What should happen now?

  • The GANKERS & miners will still carebear and whine.
  • War still continues, ganking still continues, eve still continues.
  • The 'pvpers' should continue to gank miners, but should not be allowed to constantly do it without consequence with the use of the orca.
  • Pvpers should stop whining about empire carebears and move their missioning asses out of empire to low sec to help solve the problem.
  • CCP should probably move all level 4 mission agents into low sec.


Final conclusion :)
The problem eve faces atm is the GANKER, if eve was to die they would be the core course of it.
Remember PVP is everywhere but mining isn't.

Sadly you have yet again failed to provide any new insights, or any viable solutions to what only you seem to see as a major problem. And that really is the crux of it. These are YOUR issues, not most other peoples. In fact, I don't even think these are issues, just another reason for you to SHOUT LOUDLY ON THE INTERNET.

I do not consider replacing the word Griefer, with the word Ganker to be correcting your spelling. The fact that YOU do says more about your lack of reading comprehension than anything. No, replacing the word griefer with the word ganker was my way of supporting something another pilot said at the start of this "NickyYo screams at the internet for recognition" thread, where he pointed out that you had mistakenly used the word Griefer instead of the word Ganker.

A griefer is someone who goes out of their way, even to the point of taking a financial loss to make your life miserable.
A ganker is someone who sees an opportunity for gain that just happens to harm another player and takes it.


While both players can ruin an unwary miner's day, their purposes and reasoning for it are different.

It is like mixing up "Carebear" and "Industrialist".

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

As I also pointed out, I was also supporting something another pilot had already tried to point out to him very early on. Nicky didn't understand at all, so I quoted his post with the relevant word changed and highlighted in the vain hope that he might see why people do not take him seriously.

And as someone ELSE had pointed out, if you want people to take you seriously then one should consider taking the time and the effort to make sure as many terms as possible are used correctly. Have I made it clear enough for the both of you yet?

Putting level 4 missions in low sec will mean that level 4 missions won't be run, not that you will have more cannon fodder. At least until the time mission resists and fittings are on par with pvp resists and fittings.
