Just take where we are now and look at where we'll be when the "upgraded" version comes out.

I asked a question pretty much as soon as I saew that fanfest video all those years ago.

I wanted to know what new content there would be to go with the shiny graphics.

I'm still waiting for an answer.

I wish I was around when they still had the different station interiors for military, commercial, etc. etc., but they threw all that out, and I generally dislike what they have done with CQ now compared to what was in the video. I just wish I could play the game before everything that was "groundbreaking" was removed

Never asked for it, never wanted it. Always was against it. Still am. It is lame and adds nothing to the game. No depth, no complexity, no gameplay, no fun. Nothing.

Are you in faction warfare? Can't be bothered to check... I assume no, you get the point.

I imagine that expansion was just as much of a waste for you as well? How is your reaction different and why? Do you know?

I actually did join FW when it came out. I did not think it was a waste of time at all. It added to the game. It added gameplay for spaceships. It gave people something to do outside of low-sec pirating, 0.0 warfare, and highsec wars. CCP botched the implementation though, and it quickly lost steam as nothing really mattered that you did. The fighting was okay, but pointless in the end.

Walking around a station adds nothing to Eve gameplay.

I never wanted it, but I didn't really mind it until I realized CCP was neglecting the rest of the game in favor of Incarna and other projects. Now I wish they would just get it finished, so they can move on to developing spaceship content again.

I have never wanted WIS. For the better part of 2 years, never once had I wanted to get out of my ship.

To me WIS is nothing but 2nd Life. If I wanted to walk around in an avatar, I would go d/l 2nd Life.

To those who say that CCP was waiting for the technology to catch up? 2nd Life has been around for 5-6 years.

The tech isn't the issue.

The reason for WIS is for CCP to give proof of concept for WOD.

If CCP hadn't jumped the Dev tracks to WOD, We would most likely still be waiting for Ambulation. Thats why there has been no development of Eve for the last 2 years. We would most likely have a much more developed background, less broken, more technologically advanced client. We most likely wouldn't have broken FW, broken Lowsec, broken economy, broken (insert broken issue here).

CCP in the past few years have abandoned eve...until recently.

With the promises by Devs to address/improve certain issues such at TiDi, CQ and other things, I see some improvement in whats being fixed. I'm just astounded by what events have had to happen to get CCP to address the issues.

There is no reason that x% of the playerbase ragequit over " see what they do". No reason the players should be leaving because of lack of development of broken game issues. There is no reason that any insufficiencies in the game should be ignored for years on end. These issues should have been dealt with at the time they became an issue. Instead we got CQ

These events are what has led us to the slump Eve has gotten itself into. The only way to get Eve out of this predicament is to FIX stuff.... and I THINK/HOPE they are now.

With CQ out of the bag, I feel that CCP has set up too many issues for it to deal with. With CQ, now CCP has to deal with tech issues and whiny players wanting more CQ content. Other players want pre-existing broken issues to be dealt with. Yet other players want to just create discord and angst just cuz they think its the cool thing to do... CCP is doing the equivalent of stamping out the little grass fires while the forest and houses burn.

This far CCP has shown that it is willing to fix certain things but from my view, they dont appear to have any sort of plan. Their actions have appeared to have no timeline or organization to them with the exception of cramming unfinished CQ content down our throats. It appears to me that they are disorganized in their Grand Plan. They haven't made any plans on how to deal with pre-existing issues and therefore appear to have abandoned them. Has CCP done this

I think the majority of the angst and anger in the community is that we have not received any sort of FIRM timeline or indication of a plan in which you will be addressing anything other then CQ

CCP? Do you have a timeline or plan on which to fix pre-existing broken game issues? Will this happen before/after/during CQ development? Do you have any plans on ANYTHING beyond the usual 18 months? Will you address and fix the pre-existing broken issues before further development of CQ?

I think thats what a lot of the players are wondering and they are getting no answers on the future.

I personaly would like to see a calandar of the next 36 months of plans. You certainly have enough broken content that you can give a timeline on what will/wont be addressed.

Fill us in please.

This claim has come up on the boards again and again. Few would have a problem with ccp releasing an expansion that forcused on adding avatars. As in one 6 motnh release and we have avatars walking around. That would be fine. Very few would complain.

The problem came when they announced that in order to do this they were going to abandon eve for *18 months*.

It took so long because they were not just trying to give eve players, bodies to walk around in. They were developing avatars for wod a completely different game with eve as the beta test.

Now 18 months is coming up and the lack of development in eve is taking its toll on the game and playerbase. This shouldn't be surprising to anyone.

If you read the thread or played the game you would realize that WiS is not an idea born soley out of WoD. If CCP (and all Icelanders by proxy) are so naive that they think abandoning this cash cow completely for vampires is a good idea then they are beyond comment. Incarna was for Us, you should see it as that to avoid coming off as a tinfoil hat wearing dipshit like the rest.

Well call me a starry-eyed idealistic fool, but I had this idea that a WiS expansion to a massively multiplayer online game would have gameplay and be multiplayer. So as far as I'm concerned, we don't actually have Ambulation yet, just an alpha tech demo.

If (argument fails) then (resort to verbal abuse)

If CCP's goal was to release Incarna as a quality expansion, it was mostly ready years ago. They wouldn't have bothered with the uninspired bland new character designs. They would have launched with all CQs and establishments long ago, and we'd already be WELL into having it be useful. Instead, Hilmar's Greed demanded they start a project they had no experience or qualifications to do, and sacrifice EVE at it's feet.

Also, a 1 day old character that lies about having been playing for 5 years is not qualified to talk. At all. Go back to 2 wow.

I read the thread and I have and continue to play eve.

You miss what I am saying.

Incarna as a 6 month expansion that yields walking in stations as a secondary part of eve - yes. But incarna as a thing that almost completely shuts down a 500+ employee company from working on its core product for going on 2 years? The only reason to do that would be because you have another game in mind.

2 years is a long time in computer gaming.
