Any news on lego frigates?

I voted on the lego website for the lego rifter model, and I see the stickied thread about more lego frigates...but I have heard entirely no news on actual developments. Is anything going on with the lego models, and is it actually going to happen? It would be fairly badass

it made the vote and is scheduled for the next lego review. once it passes review, and i really hope it does, the lego designers will spend a few months perfecting the model, making packaging, instructions and all that other good stuff before it goes on shelves

I remember when you actually had to build stuff with lego, not just snap 5 pre-fab pieces together.

How do you think the lego rifter was made in the first place?

Its something called creativity and imagination, you obviously lack both.

You obviously lack the ability to understand the premise of my comment, which was to suggest that Lego has moved away from being generic construction kits and instead moved towards being more of instant-gratification snap-togethers with only one thing to make and one possible way of doing it.

Well the Serenity model didnt make it past review because it fell outside the lego target group (children aged 6-11). I dont have much hope of the Rifter making it either tbh.

Yeah, rifter is very niche. At best, I think it might be a limited production that could be sold in the eve online store.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

Maybe on the back of the lego box have

"Fly this ship today** on EVE Online

**today actually meaning in a week or so"

"Bow down before the one you serve, you're going to get what you deserve"

It takes a few hours from the time you create a new character to the time you can fly a Rifter, even if you didn't start a Minmatar character.

Well if CCP had any sense they'd try and partner with LEGO and include a 1 month new subscription to EvE in every box. In fact I believe that such a COA would be almost guaranteed.

Of course, whichever way you look at it the target audience of EvE is older than 11 years old but there is still a not-insignificant market for such a product, especially when CCP looks likely to throw its entire marketing department behind any such release.
