Where can I find a simple Character Reader for a supplied API Key?

I've googled quite a few combinations and I cannot find a page that allows a person to enter a supplied userID and apiKey and get the information in the key back. Does anyone have a page from a reputable site that can return the info in a formatted output instead of raw XML?

The URL "https://api.eveonline.com/account/characters.xml.aspx" with the supplied values generates an authentication error, even when used in the same tab after logging into eve gate.

I'm a CEO of a corporation and would like to be able to read the information applicants are willing to share.

What information do you want to be able to read?
Cause there are many programs which allow you to do what you want and we can better direct you with more information.

Account and Market - All
Communications - All
Private Information - All
Public Information - All

When a pilot provides a key, we would like see everything that s/he included in the key. Every field that is avialable in the above sections should be represented with the information returned. Single value answers in a Field: Value format. Multi value answers in a tableized format - like transaction info. Everything all on a single (long) page for easy access. I've taken a look at putting the API info into Eve HQ, but it's not that accessible for a quick perusal before aproving a corporate application.

Sorry for the long delay in response. I thought I was subscribed to this thread, but did not get an email that it had been updated.

These forums do not send emails, they just light up a notification on top if you are logged in.

Edit: I was about to propose to have a look at EVEMon but after having a look at the info you are requesting from new applicants (I doubt you will get any applicants), EVEMon is not for you. You are actually asking for a full info exposing key (OK you are not asking for Science and Industry but that's just a drop in the ocean).

I've got a small Python program that I wrote which takes an API key and parses it and spits out a bunch of data. It doesn't do everything you mentioned, but it does pull out a lot of the more useful information for checking for alts (stuff like listing alts on the account, skills list, some mail and wallet transactions info, etc). If you are willing to run something from the command line, feel free to contact me about getting a copy of it.

I'm not familiar with the old API system. Is this more information than was asked for from a "Full API" in the old system? Everybody used to ask for those.

I could probably narrow this list down considerably to what we truly need. I just figured that someone would have already done this.

The Legacy "Full" API key indeed exposed all info about a character or a corp and that was the reason CCP created the CAK. To give players the ability to expose controlled info.
If I was to join a Corp and they asked me for full exposure of my characters info I would have turned them down. Actually in the days of the Legacy Keys and when I was running a Corp, we where asking for a Limited key, asking for Full key was too much for them to trust us with.

This is only showing me the kill info. None of the other options are active.

You might wonna check EVEMon again. Use the snapshot version (third link on the download section of the main page), as it's EVEMon 1.7.0 beta (official release on June 10th). The only things it doesn't provide yet is character kill logs, medals, contacts, calendar events.

This is a pretty decent page and has most of the info anyone would be looking for. The Skills section appears to be specifically geared toward the needs of one corp's opinions of what is desired and the turret skills section is a total mystery.

Of concern is the fact that I do not see any disclaimer that the site is not storing the API keys.

Then that's all that key has enabled.

Also, in case you missed it, I wrote the original version of what's on eveapitools.com, and what is on ridetheclown is the current version. I can say ridetheclown.com does not save keys - unless you use the short URL option. eveapitools.com I can't say; I don't know who hosts it and honestly while I thank them for keeping it up while I wasn't active in eve, it's now something of a hinderance to have it still active with such an ancient version.

It was originally written for vetting people who wished to join the corp back in old atlas, hence it being geared towards combat skills and some now terribly dated fits. The current version (again, hosted here) is a bit more generalist and has industry and other such skills.
