Thank God I don't have to worry about learning skills, atleast. On to the other stuff.

I'm looking for something cheap and cheerful that can throw itself into a pvp fight in a random fashion without being completely pointless(so no logis) or requiring a lot of fancy piloting skill.
Being able to do the FW plexes and missions atleast a little bit would be nice too.
Any idea what kind of ships I should be training for? I'm leaning towards stealth bombers a bit, would they fit all the requirements above? Are there any other ships of the same cost or cheaper that'd also meet those requirements?

And once I've picked a ship, how would you suggest I spread SPs between Per/Will weapon/ship skills and the Int/Mem fitting and tanking skills?

Frigates, max out your weapon system skills and tank skills, afterburner skills, and go nuts. Flying anything else in a random solo fashion would not work out well for you... At least not in my opinion.

Also, EVEMon is your friend as far as what to do about your attributes.

_It's very simple, really. If you see Tengus on scan, they are ratting. If you see a shitload of Tengus, the Russians are blobbing. If you see Proteuses on scan, they will be on top of you in about a second. If you see a shitload of Proteuses, the big boys are having a goodfight. _

yeah, just play around with eve mon.

the usual alt ship of choice would be the Rifter, so just find the rifter on the item list, add also t2 weaps some navigation skills and then play with the levels on the skill que. (evemon will add the minmatar frigs only to LVL1, so set it to something higher)

group first the minimum acceptable skills you need to fly ship + meta guns + gunnery support (usually will end up skills at lvl3 - 4) and do a remap calculation based on it, leaving all the LVL4 and 5 skills at the end of the que.

that way you can fly a nice, mean rifter in a lil over a week, with thermodinamics, ab skils, navigation, gunney and support.

finish up the lvl 4 - 5 skills later.

other option would be to get the cerebral accelerator, its kinda expensive, but it will let you get the a perfect rifter in record time when paired with a set of +4s (a +4 set is VERY cheap now after the refining set given out at the 9th aniversary.)
