Solo pvp is one of the easiest things in the game! All you need is a solid ship and the skill to fly it well.

...and a neutral booster alt.
...and a neutral scout alt.
...and a sometimes hauler alt.
...and a sometimes a falcon alt for when you get caught on a down day.

I am getting tired of all these "solo" pvpers putting up their "solo" videos with a fleet window with their alts in it.

If solo is a tengu with scout, links, and all the fixings then I should multibox 40 drakes and be the best solo pvper ever.

Solo PvP with booster/scouting alts is not solo. It's why we can't have nice things.

This game is about blob, bring alts, friends or die, better blob win, solo exist but is like kamikaze or lottery, ok example you want solo, you fit your hurricane and you pick any random system in 0.0 to find solo target, before you arrive to your destination you die 20jumps earlier to random gate camp.

Solo pvp is one of the hardest things in eve, and by that I mean true solo pvp. There are different flavors of what most ppl call solo, but there is a reason why you have the list up there.

Solo pvp isn’t really doable in highsec. It is, but there aren’t really that many AVAILABLE targets unless you are doing something a bit crafty (fw, wardecs). Even then your target range is pretty limited and there are not a lot of gf’s.

Null seems like the place where this should flourish, but it doesn’t. Its not the blobs so much as it’s the bubbles. Compounding the bubble problem is regular traffic. Without it your surrounded by blue to which you only fight for sh*ts and giggles. It makes it so you HAVE to have a either solo cloaky boat (only one comes to mind) or a mwd frig hull. This is a REALLY small segment of solo pvp, and again, limits what you can do.

WH’s are almost the worst area for it because of the need for an all in one boat (scanning, no refitting, good pvp boat) which in general is just a pain. The sites don’t help much either, catching someone in a plex in low/null is like a party for the solo’er, in wh space it just makes it worse.

Last and best is lowsec. If you live in a lowsec area you know enough to know the temperament and what you can or cant do, regardless of scouts or intel. The only time roaming around your area without an alt is overly risky is in a big boat (most cruisers and up) just because you can easily die trying to align out/ping pong/whatever. Lowsec offers so many great things for solo’ers that it would take a novella to describe them in detail, with the only major drawback of actually getting to fight by yourself when a big ship is involved (if a BC or up is involved its likely someone else will notice it before the victim goes down). You are correct that a great deal of people inappropriately fluant the title of a solo pvp’er, but I have never met one that could take me in an honest fight. Most forget how to skillfully pvp because of the crutches (boosters in particular).

If you have read all of this, then I assume you are interested in solo pew. If that’s the case, let me shed some light on something that is rarely talked about. There are only 3 kinds of targets for a solo pvp (and pvp in general excluding sov and market, etc).

1) Carebears who don’t want the pew. They are going to die hard and fast and are 95% of the time failfit. No gf’s here just a cherry for hunting around.
2) People looking for a fight trying to slant an obvious adv over you. See baiting, neutral alts station shenagins, etc. Fights are usually determined by beating them at their own game (this being the majority of fleet fights, sov not included ofc) or general competency. Generally something just avoid when solo’ing (no I don’t want to tackle that bait maller)

3) Other people looking for gf’s. This is where the majority of gf’s come from, especially if you have a decent kb history. Either people will do something deliberate (sit at the sun and wait) or will be hunting you while you are hunting them. If this is the case message them and ask. In a lot of cases if they are soloing around too, they will want to fight. IF THIS HAPPENS, FLEET UP AND MEET AT A SAFE. It is the safest way to avoid the asshatery listed above. If they are in a fleet with you, they can’t get boosts without you knowing. If you are at YOUR safe, they cannot bring a neutral rep in or a gang without first dropping the fleet to give others the warp in.

Just saying to all those would be solo pvpers, if you’re looking for a gf, fleet up and meet at a safe.

I did solo pvp once.

Then got owned by a kitsune and 5 of his friends. Never fired a shot.
