I was planning on getting a second monitor and i was wondering if its possible to center the ship on one screen so one screen would show exactly what i see just now in terms of space and move some of the UI to the next screen such as the overview, chat boxes etc. This would mean the second screen would show more of eve to the side the 2nd monitor is on with the newly moved UI (i.e. moer space to the right if the new monitor is located to the right), or is it only possible to use 2 monitors playing the EVE client with a break in the middle of the play area?

Also what total resolution can 2 monitors get on EVE if both monitors are 24" with single res of 1920*1080? does the resolution stay 1920*1080 across both monitors or does EVE give higher re options to compensate?

cheers.

I play with two monitors. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to do what you want.

If you window it I know you can stretch it between two monitors and the resolution will adjust forrectly, but your ship and readout will be in the middle of the two screens.

This is why you need three monitors!

Why do I have this sig? I don't smoke.

EDITED (For clarity)

This is incorrect, it is absolutely possible to do exactly what the OP wants.

-Press escape in game and under the "Display and Graphics" tab in the left column there are sliders called camera center.
-You may or may not have to enable fixed window mode
-Drag the slider, and check the box to offset interface with camera, save and restart your client (it should apply right away, but it never hurts to restart your client).
-Now when you get into space click and drag on your capacitor to offset it where you want it.
-Rearrange the rest of your UI as you wish
-Enjoy dual screen (or more) EVE!

I am running at 3840 x 1080 with the option to run it at 5760 x 1080.

Yeah they added in the slider awhile ago. The only issue you might run into is the text that comes up under your ship sometimes(Warp Drive Active, Warping, etc) will still be in the center. At least thats how it was when it first came out.

That is what the "offset interface with camera" checkbox is for. With that checked it moves the message over too.

Yep, this is exactly how I play.

There's a slider in the settings that lets you off-centre the camera and push your ship and UI on to one screen.

In the settings turn it in to "fixed window mode". This will make the game look like it's full screen, but is actually just a borderless window. In that mode, you'll have 3840x1840 as a resolution option which will automatically span it across both screens

Brilliant, thanks for the answers. I deffo be buying another monitor now. I was not keen on the split screen idea with the break in the middle but this way i can use one screen for the action and the other foe th UI info.
Superb.

Even without the ability, a 2nd screen for Eve is always nice. Run 2 accounts, have dotlan up, troll Eve-O, watch porn, etc.

Aye, OP can achieve what he wants, Lapine is utterly wrong.

HOWEVER, real men play with three monitors.

This was the other reason i wanted 2 monitors, to multi-box, use trade finder, watch filth and smutt, play poker etc, but the 2 screen game sold me on buying another.

My favorite part about that screenshot is how he removed the solar system info from the top left and its clearly still displayed on the planets in his overview.

Meh, if you can use that against me in any meaningful way, well then, have at it :)
