i love the redeemer, and i fly one. wouldn't lose it. but the perfect world he was blathering on about requires like three months just for the two LV skills he'd need to get the numbers he was talking about.

Yep. But I'm strictly subcap and ran out of interesting stuff to train, so BOps 5 it was Shocked
I've been remapped on will/perc anyway, so it took about 35 days. Cloaking skill at V I haven't done, it's not needed for 685m/sec (use a DG Cloak).
Ofc, Estamel's Cloak wld give the Panther a rather eye-bulging 822m/sec, without another 26 days' training.. 1.5 bill seems like a reasonable trade for that Blink

I just like flying different/interesting/fun fits. The isk doesn't bother me; I can't enjoy a game if I'm having to watch the pennies.

Well 6 years is a pretty long time don't you think? I have 97mill SP, all subcap. I live in w-space or null and I'm perfectly happy earning a few bill a week and getting the odd killmail. I enjoy playing the game and exploring ideas that people like you seem to think aren't worth considering.

I plan to fly a Widow one day. I like what it can do, and have a healthy respect for what it can't do. I guess it does appear to be a bit overkill for ordinary stuff, but then it's not meant for that - it's Cov Ops, after all. I'm sure in the right hands and used for the right purpose, it would be awesome and that's after all the negative comments I've read about it. I'm glad I found this thread - I'll be looking for pointers on how to fit it when the time comes....

Widow 101:

1) Find solo carebear target with alt.
2) Web/scram/paint target, light cyno.
3) Jump in, gank target, scoop the loot.
4) Sit cloaked in local and harvest tears of rage while your alt finds another target.

The only advantage of the Widow (outside of sitting at a POS bridging bomber gank blobs) is you can scout for targets with a noob alt and keep your main out of local. It's amusing, but you're risking a lot of ISK on a ship that's going to die horribly if you jump in on a bait ship.

PS: talking about cloaked speed for a ship without a covops cloak is just silly. If you're moving around under cloak in a black ops, you're doing something very, very wrong.

PPS: if you want to gank careless idiots in covops frigates (the only kind that are decloaked long enough to lock them), just get a bomber and save yourself 90% of the ISK.

It may be skill intensive, but it's damn worth it if put to the correct usage. Take this guy for example. Panther is all he flies, other than his alts Arazu, and he hasn't lost a ship since last July.

Er, nope. I'm just doing it very, very 'differently'. And as I said, it's a lot of fun although, like many things in Eve, it requires patience :)

I had to grin at your next sentence where you suggest using a Bomber to kill Cov Ops, which as far as I know is the "very, very wrong" way to use a Bomber 'properly'. But still fun, so what the hey.

Anyway, OP, sorry your thread got a bit sidetracked.

theyr'e all solo kills on morons ratting in low. he's got a few strat cruiser kills, yeah, but everyone knows that strats are susceptible to alpha, which is what he's doing on them. add in 30 pos mod kills, 25 capsule kills where his instalock arazu scrammed the guy after he killed the ship, and the rest are all frigates and cruisers. a few t3 battlecruisers.

don't get me wrong, they're good numbers for a solo pvper. lowsec is a wasteland, though, so it's not really my cup of tea.

lol at the eft warriors in here... the widow might have 1000 dps on paper but it rly does only 300-400 dps if you dont have target painters... dont forget that bombers getting certain bonuses the widow does not get

If relativity equals time plus momentum, what equals relativity, if the momentum is minus to the time?

Thats a shame you feel like that. I don't blame you for being scared to fly a billion isk ship and fight with it. I was scared the first few times.

Witch is still cheaper than most T3's flying around with some awesome single abilities. (some luv wouldn't hurt thou)

Widow is by far the sexiest ship, period. It's too bad it's not really useful. If it was more combat oriented, like the snake, it'd be more useful.

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

Given your sig, the Sin should surely be sexeh?

Oh wait. It's a potato.

PS - that Panther is ebil. 820m/sec CLOAKED?? Can any other ship do that? Frikking A, that'd be fun just to fly around lol

I used to think it was a joke when every faction BS thread would end in DHB WildCat.

However this is sadly becoming regular. Im just gonna give up and start saying "WildCat" to end all my arguements about ships in EVE.

So can the widow solo pvp?
