EVE General Discussion

I've not logged on to eve for some time because basically the game became rubbish, listening to whiners on TS or vent people always complaining about game machanics, fourms just a waste of time no longer the place to get intelligant information.

So has anything changed? From what I've read no! So farwell Eve maybe I shall pop in again in 6 months to see if you exist or have improved.

and no one can have my stuff!

What it has to do with returning to EVE, is that alot of people left because they got bored with the game and the lack of new content. So given that we have been promised great things by CCP, and not much has yet materialised apart from new missile graphics and wardec mechanics, I think what I said above is quite relevant to the OP.

My question is why would -A- keep a whiner whom buries his head in the sand fpr 6 months? Embarrasing i would think

My main is 3 years old now. When people find out that I play EvE they ask me tons of questions. All I can do is tell them the truth.

First, I tell them that it will take them at least 6 months of sitting and skilling to be able to actually do something worth while. Yes, I could tell them that they could run missions for 9 hours a day for those 6 months in a T1 Destroyer and end up with a few hundred thousand ISK but you might as well just not play for 6 months.

Then, I mention that there are a large group of players who do nothing but prey on the helpless and new players in the game, especially the ones who don't have any ability to shoot back.

After that, I talk about making ISK in game. I tell them about making maybe 100 Million ISK in a few hours while mining, but then I mention that those same bullies who attack the helpless have literally tens, if not hundreds of trillions of ISK. Of course I tell them that for an entire month this option will be off the table, but hey, a month of gameplay, who doesnt want to dock up for 30 days in a game that costs you RL $ to play? Then, we laugh because neither of us will ever see as much as 100 billion ISK because the toons with 100+ Million skillpoints and growing will never allow myself or them to acquire those amounts. Of course I include the discussion about Hulkageddon and how it takes away an entire career path for much of the playerbase for over a month, which ends up raising the costs of ALL items in game, making them even more-unattainable for them, only afforded by the trillionaire blocs.

But I tell them that if they stick with the game for a year or so they too can acquire a few hundred million ISK worth of ships. They could build a nice 1.5 Billion ISK BS for those lvl IV's or Epic Arcs but that bloc of terrorists, supported wholly by CCP, will probably help you lose that investment one way or another, forcing you to start all over.

OR, they could spend $500 and have enough ISK instantly to enjoy yourself for a few months...

Oddly enough, everyone I explain the game to says they don't want to play game after hearing the facts.
