I've always been attracted to Wormhole life. I've even briefly lived in a C3 wormhole once as a new player clearing the anomalies in a terribly fit active tank battleship. I've always thought about going back to it yet the lack of PvP always drags me towards an other direction. But then again what's PvP when you can't fly what you want because of isk?

Here are my questions.
- How is wormhole PvP?
- Are there any corporations/alliances more focused on PvP? (While farming enough to afford the ships)

Thanks

There are plenty of WH corps out there that sustain healthy PvP fleets while making enough money to fund a loss if such a thing occurs.

Wormhole pvp usually consists of small gangs roaming looking for a fight. usually 5 to 10 people. As for pvp focused alliances, please use the Notable Wormhole Alliances thread.

It's the best in the game. It's not always as easy to find as you'd like, but it's there and regular enough if you go hunting

Replace "Talocan" with "Exhale." and you're probably more on the money. Blink

But thank you for your vote of confidence. We're mostly just out to have fun, win or lose.

I think we ran into you guys yesterday, but I am not 100% on that.

But back to pvp in wh space. If you put the effort into proper scanning, and go through wh chains, you will find stuff to kill. There is always someone looking pvp, or you get the juicy plex fleets which can end up paying your power bill. Twisted

I'm sure it's a lot harder to find ! Usually looking at KB from wormhole alliances/corporations the **** efficiency is what stands out :) Explanation on that one guys?

Honestly seriously considering to join because it sucks not being able to fly what you want.

Often wormhole groups fly expensive ships because they can afford it. But it only takes one or two poor fleet engagements to destroy one's killboard efficiency.

Case in point: Last month, Transmission Lost killed over 95 bil worth of ships, putting them in the top four killers of wormhole space. At the same time, they lost almost 57 bil in expensive ship fits, pushing their actual efficiency down to 62%. Does this mean they're not potent? Not at all; killboards are very simplistic in their setup and never tell the whole story. There are plenty of corps with 90% efficiency I'd tangle with before TL.

Another example. My alliance, Talocan United, doesn't fit much above Meta 5 and will more often fly a T2 than a T3. We also kill, on average, over twice as many ships as we lose. Still, our ISK efficiency hovers between 50-60%.

There are groups who kill a lot and kill well (Aquila, Exhale, k162), but they are few and far between. The way I see it, as long as we're causing more damage than we're taking, we're doing all right.

From my expirence the majority of WH pvp is ganks, there are alot of care bears living in WH space who wont fight you even if they out number you 2:1.

Attempting to judge an alliance/corporation based on their efficiency isn't always a great idea, it is very easy to get alot of ganks & tower KMs which boost your efficiency alot.

If you are trying to judge the skill of an alliance's pilots you are best looking at the outcome of fleet engagements, fleet compesitions & lost fits.

The vast majority of our loses are through getting jumped during PVE or being blobbed to death. As the guy above me said, WH pilots tend to fly very expensive ships because ISK generation is so accessable. Alliances can go into a fleet fight, kill 10 ships & lose 1 but still come out on the losing end of the ISK war.

I remember reading a comment of a KM saying that some people dont play Eve Online, they play Kill-Board Online. I agree though, if your looking for a decent pvp alliance, check out the notable alliances thread. They are all good at what they do.

You guys know of any alliance that may be involved in both Wormholes and PvP? (As in low/null pvp)

Your best bet is to check the "Notable Wormhole alliances" thread. Mostly because it'll link to their websites and let you know what each group is all about.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but what do you need to fly in order to live happily in a wh? How many SP does one need as a minimum to be able to enjoy the rats, hence the income and PVP?

A t2 fit battlecruiser and a covert ops can keep you alive, a tech 3 cruiser makes life comfortable and a capital ship drowns you in a sea of ISK.
