So after years of k.com being censored on the forums, CCP has taken it to the next level and changed the name of KUGUTSUMEN alliance. Seriously CCP when are you going to get over yourself and leave the past in the past. Targeting a major Eve Fansite that actually now a days(even though its down atm) has very little to do with T20 or the original creator.

In short Free Kugu!

Edit: If a CCP dev deems it worthy to lock this thread(which they will) I ask that you at least explain the reasons why a Eve fanbase site is still censored on forums and now ingame and any mention of it is locked.

Generally when you want someone to get over something you don't keep poking and yelling 'ARE YOU OVER IT YET!??'

I've no idea why they've banned that site but you might as well let it be.

In all honesty I'm surprised it took them so long. However that doesn't change the fact that the overall censorship is pretty stupid and CCP needs to get over it.

For the same reason a major alliance can run roughshod over their game with little to no consequence.

Was there any explanation as to why this was done? It seems a little more than odd to me. Did they cite which TOS/EULA clause you had broken by naming your alliance after a character who was banned for whistle-blowing on corruption at the highest (in-game) level? Having recently returned I was starting to think CCP had begun to get their s**t together. Guess I was wrong. Shame.

Would they also ban Woodward and Bernstein as corp/alliance names?

I'm guessing you are refering to Goons. What Goons are doing whether you agree with it or not are completly within the confines on game mechanics and most has been going on for years. The only reason its hit the current level is because of the sheer size .
However this thread isn't about that. Its about the fact that CCP still doesn't seem to have grown up as a company and still holds petty resentment and censors the name of a fanbase site that is home to a very large number of current and former Eve players.

They should relax a bit.

Nowadays, where Band of Devs turned into Devswarm Federation, T20 incidents have been renamed to 'patch notes' and turned into lead game design policies.

So if pulling T20's all day long officialy and openly, CCP shouldn't be that mad at the guy uncovering the incidence where they tried to do it under cover.

The only semi half assed explanation that I've seen was from Darius(I don't remember his CCP name). Which stated that the name was still blocked due to security issues in the same way the known hacking sites and bot sites are censored(which they aren't). He stated that K.com has malware and viruses on the site, which is completely false. Why would many CSM members, alliance leaders, and thousands of players visit the site regulatory if that was the case. In short its not.

In all honesty while I'm not condoning the actions of T20 or Kugu, CCP is lucky that T20 happened when it did and it was brought to light at that time. Eve was young then and obviously was able to rebound from it and grow stronger because of it. If that where to happen now, say devs spawned BPOs for Goons, Eve probably wouldn't be able to survive it.

No, he was trying to insinuate goons have devs helping them like T20 and BoB. It's always about that, here on the completely factual and well thought out EVEO forums.

Does Kugutsumen mean something foul in another language such as Japanese (for example, I would expect an alliance named "Bukkake Blaster Bros" to be censored).

Is it some kind of covert reference to covering someone with semen?

Or does CCP stand for Crying Corrupt Pussies?

It is - I picked it because people deserving the name would typically pick on it.

Now I guess you made your comment because you also boo at the bad guy in the Punch and Judy Show, so let me explain for Dummies:

I'm not at all hostile to the CFC, and checking my posts on them, you'll hardly find any hostile comment on them. As a matter of fact, they're the only coalition providing any content making watching this game remotely worthwile.

However, every change CCP made to nullsec warfare recently catered towards CFC. Actually, I am one of the few lucky persons who just were on their way of putting one of their characters into a supercarrier and every nerf indication coming right in time.

When I read how hard they were going to nerf them, I opted out and decided for Titan - then they started nerfing those, so no - not interested anymore. So yes - CFC saved me a lot of isk and prevented me from sitting in a flying coffin.

Now if they make any other strategy but 'the blob' worthwhile, I'll even play the game actively again (probably).

And yes - despite CCP constantly boosting highsec and mitigating options for intervention in highsec for outside entities, I think that highsec must be destroyed in its current shape.

Nonetheless, all recent changes that would have directly affected the CFC catered towards them more than the T20 incident could have ever helped BoB back in the days.

T20 was a joke compared to the effective and definite killing of supercap accounts nowadays (which imho is good, since it's an isk sink).
