So last night, after some exploring/contracting/beer drinking Blink, I'm parked in Jita trolling npc chat. I decided to have some fun in local and post an obvious fail scam for some fun. The message was something along the lines of "Send me at least 50 mil and I'll send you at least half of that back, guaranteed". It got a few laughs as I expected, but then I got a 100 mil deposit in the wallet Pirate

I was amazed that someone could be that dense. So this got me thinking, what's the worst/stupidest/craziest scam you've seen that actually worked?

The lad that sent you 100m is probably a bit dense, yeah. But otherwise the doubling scam makes for some good gambling from time to time. As someone who bites, just start low, don't double, and get a feel for when to quit Smile

That's the thing, I didnt offer double in return, only half Cool I thought it was obvious enough, but apparently not. He really must not have been paying attention, or perhaps he was just drinking more than I was Lol

Once, years ago (when Local@800 brought Jita to a screeching halt) I posted a contract in Local for 1mill units... something (Omber I think) that had only 100k units in it. I did it mostly because I had heard that scamming works quite well and I just wanted to try it out.

Some dude immediately piped up with "lolol Ifly thinks we can't count!"

Then he accepted it.

I think he did it as a reward for portraying the scams as they really are.
Dumb and waste of PLEX's.

I know I'd send you some isk for that. :)

They need to remove Jita local. Its just filled with spam and scams. Also causes lag. Pointless.
