If you're not the orca pilot, it's certainly good PvP. Twisted

Red Galaxy versus an Orca? My money is on the orca. Oh, and thank your corp for me for all the free stuff we stole when we kicked you out of rage <3

You are always outnumbered.

The fact that this is sisi makes it irrelevant.

True, but that wasn't really what the post was/is about.

Cannibal Kane wrote:
Chances are people will not come so easily to help if it was not on sisi but on Tran.

Which makes it even worse on Tranq, cause the people attacking are usually already prepared to die, while the people that "could" defend, will only have more doubt

Cannibal Kane wrote:
I also hate the fact that for some people sisi is not about testing but about risk free pvp as you make it sound.

CCP has even setup an entire system on SiSi, just for this.
Edit: Duality is the server used for all the actual testing, SiSi is for fooling around and the mass tests every once in a while.

Anyway, nice seeing you on the forums every once in a while man, haven't seen you in game a lot lately.

You are incorrect about the purpose of Duality and SiSi.

Duality is for specific, scheduled mass testing of a particular mechanic or bug fix.

SiSi is for general testing of the new features that will be coming out in the next update or expansion. People use it as a test bed to try new ships or tactics "for free", and that's fine, but not really the main purpose of the server.

Fighting in eve isn't like dualing with pistols on a mannar lawn.

It's more like walking through a bad neighourhood in "the warriors" and that's why I love it

Worst thread in a long time, and that is saying something.

So basically, in a SANDBOX GAME you want to induce an arbitrary rule that if the server decides you outnumber the opponent, CONCORD shows up and fucks you up?

This is incredibly naive.

So what happens if 5 people attack my 5 people .. I can just warp 4 away and have CONCORD fight my battles?

There is so much wrong with this, both on a conceptual level and one of implementation that I literally don't know where to start.

No, just no.

Remember, sisi is a
Quote:
TEST SERVER
There will be superfriends teams running their tests, or the strange people who think a sisi km means anything. There are specific rules for sisi which make it ideal for 1 v 1 combat. Want to do 1v1, give a shout and fight anybody then have consentual pvp not at the combat beacons of the pvp system. Pvp is allowed outside the beacons providing is consentual

Under this rule, if you agree to a 1v1, if somebody else comes and helps or interferes, that is petitionable as a violation of the Sisi rules. Provided the combat wasn't at a CA beacon.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

Pretty sure all offensive EWar is a criminal action. Otherwise newbie missioners would be plagued with people scanning them down, webbing/scramming/target painting them and scooping the resulting loot.

Oh, and enforced arena dueling isn't allowed because it'd ruin world pvp, probably. Atleast that's the experience with other MMOs. Why take the risk of going on a roam when you can get a guaranteed "fair" fight much more conveniently.

5th rule - If you expect a fair fight, you are already at a disadvantage

6th rule - Include smack talk and good fights

7th rule - You are not a pvp'r until you've received a hate tell

8th rule - If this is your first night, you have to fight.

I find it ironic that you would use rules pertaining to an organization that promotes fighting in a one on one format, even going so far as to exclude the rule "Only two men to a fight." in order to make PvP in Eve seem edgy or cool. Eve and WoW are two games I would NEVER expect a fair fight.

If you fight 1v1 one on the test server you are guarenteed that your opponent will have

1. Booster alt
2. full set of pirate implants
3. be full of drugs
4. be overheating the entire time

never forget all of that

Well that's nifty I guess that you find the list ironic. This list is a variation of one I made for AOC, the main differences being that I didn't allow smacktalk and there was no pad camping. Personally I never expect a fair fight in any game. It's human behavior for competitive people to find any advantage they can, even if it includes cheating. This isn't a cheat though, outnumbering your opponent has been a long time strategic advantage.

Yes!

PvP in Eve isn't just about winning the fight, it is about avoiding the fights you can't win, and finding targets you can win against. If someone has the patience to hunt down and find an Orca that they can freely attack then that took some skill or patience.

Either that or the Orca pilot was really dumb.

Hmmmm, a rather interesting and perhaps true way of looking at it.

By the way, i got shot by CONCORD last night for warp scrambling a target, perhaps i missed the update notes which stated this had become a crime? or does it have something to do with the system sec rating? ( not including low sec, cause i know CONCORD doesn't go there )

This is one reason I hate high sec people. None of you have the slightest clue how the game works.

Well I found your problem, you are trying to pvp with a orca.

Now that's where you are making a big mistake.
You see, To me, high sec is there to get used to the game, train up your skills, get some experience, get some isk to start with, make some friends to lay out a plan with and THEN, when all that is done, you move to low and beyond.

I get what you're saying, there's 4 -5 even 6 year old chars out there, who do nothing but dwell the belts in high sec, but not me. I'm there till i am confident that I and my corp mates can survive in low and beyond, that's it.

Besides, i can't really blame the high sec dwellers, i mean, what do low sec belts have to offer, other then the occasional Jaspet and the added danger?
There really is very little reason for them to take that risk, perhaps that should be addressed?
