Shrug. Post made sense to me. I even agree.

What? That nothing unexpected happened. Well, that was pretty expected wasn't it?

Well, I suppose if you recognized the pre-event hype from the human goonipede for the impotent rage it was that's probably true.

Me, I had high and came away quite disappointed. All those cools tools, all that potential, for nothing more than a footnote to Ozymandias.

There are an awful lot of angry people in this thread Big smile
What's wrong? Do you not know what to do with yourselves now that the after effects of the supposed-to-be-epic jita burn fizzled out in less then a week? Blink

U poor kids. Sad

Only a week after the Jita burn, and it has already fizzled away into yesterdays news. I find CCP’s handling of this whole situation (regarding cyber bulling and the following “protest” for said idiots ban from the CSM) quite exceptional.

ArrowIf they had not publically stated “ **** yea this is going to be great” we would still be hearing about all of this mess

ArrowBut because they did say that, everything returned to normal shortly after the quote-unquote “big event”.

So much so that Jita seems untarnished atm, and there is barley a whisper condeming CCP's reputation atm. Win. What was supposed to be one of the biggest things in EVE memory is scarcely the topic of conversation anymore in game. IMO, CCP has learned allot from the whole “walking in stations” fiasco, and if the Jita burn has taught us one thing, it is this… CCP seems to have hired better PR people.

Homeostasis has returned to the game so quickly after what could have been a clusterfuck two times over. Thank you CCP for you excellent job with crowd control on this matter. For once, I can honestly say, CCP win.

Reading that mess makes my brain hurt, sorry bro but I guess I am not bright enough to "get it".

Here is what CCP needed to do when "Burn Jita" started, "GET THE **** OUT OF THE WAY!". It's a player event using in-game mechanics!

The only things they should have done is watch the Jita node like a hawk and reinforce it as necessary. Collect data, this is the best "Mass Testing" your going to get! Alert customer service they may want to prepare a "HTFU" reply to the people who lost something. Lastly, enjoy the free press. THE END!

Hold on, I think I can decipher this.

CCP masterfully used the Burn Jita event to deflect attention away from Mittanigate because they knew it would draw crazy amounts of attention and then fade out quickly.

Either that or he's a moon bat.

I'm not quite sure what channel you're getting your news from, but my understanding was that burn Jita was always supposed to last a few days as the pre-game entertainment before hulkageddon kicked off. Which is what happened. As for epic, they almost killed 1 ship for each vote Mittens got, and he got a lot of votes.

Trying to draw comparisons between an expansion that was conceived, built and deployed (badly) by CCP and a 2 day circle jerk in Jita created by the Goons is fail logic. Moonspeak indeed.

Actually, I did not realize how unhappy so many of you were with how irrelevant the burn Jita event turned out to be. Noted.

I think overall the reason the event isn't as "Big" of a deal as some past events was the fact that nothing major negatively game changing happened that overall left everyone pissed of vexed over the event. The event was fun, servers didn't crash, a few bugs were found and hopefully fixed, and overall it was a positive experience for EVE, CCP, and a lot of players. (And a learning experience for those that were the source of the fun).

Was it as game changing as some people may have hoped? It doesn't look like it, but it did bring some change to the everyday same-o.

Comparing this to the Mittani deal... Ya, no idea what the real relation outside of it being hosted by him, it has no connection otherwise.

Considering it was an event stated to test CCP's current state, I surmise that you have no idea what you're talking about.
