We’re not going to be offering weapons, or game changing items in EVE. We’ll be selling cosmetic things – the ability to overhaul your avatar, your ship, or customise your starbase. Things that will help you express yourself in the game. But we’re not going to allow pay-to-win.

Looks like those jack-asses at CCP are still willing to short change EVE's potential to shoehorn in more microtransactions.

Not sure if troll or just really dumb.

don't worry, you can be sure, just really dumb.

And thanks for mentioning this in the thread, I've always wanted to participate in an EVE contest of sorts.

What a truly facinating and insightful response, no really it is. So ultimately you agree that they will introduce more MT into the game and all that remains to be answered regarding the OP's original question is "will players get a free re-customization before they have to pay for them".

And I got accused of being a troll .... sheesh.

Micro-transactions aren't the issue.

The issue is the prices they rolled out on the NEX are not "Micro".

If you could buy a new shirt for 2M ISK (15 AUR atm) - then fine. We could all do that, get a new shirt. Want to do a gender shift for 100m isk (750 AUR)? No problem.

3500 AUR = $20 = 500m ISK (current prices).

1 AUR = ~143,000 ISK

The $80 monocle is a ******* joke, we all know that.

If they do reasonable MT for cosmetics only? Fine, I'm totally cool with that.

1) Allow us to trade AUR on the open market for ISK - so we're not locked into exchange values set by CCP, allow us to find our own ISK to AUR value for items

2) Then allow us to buy BPCs for clothes off the LP store and manufacture the clothes with in game materials (PI polytextiles, etc).

3) Don't do something that is lazy as **** off the cuff offensive to your community... and it'll be fine.

MT is not the issue. NEX is the issue. NEX is NOT Micro-Transactions.

Changing your avatar portrait costed real money before the new character editor came up (avoiding the cursed "I" word).
Nobody complained.
Now with the new editor we can make as many minor changes to our avatars as we want for free.
And still some of you are calling CCP greedy for maybe charging a small fee for complete makeovers in the future?

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

I like what you've done to make your character look alive... you have avoided the Barbie doll syndrome
