What is "Sandbox gameplay" to you? What do you mean when you say "A sandbox Game"

Also I think fleas live in sand.

To answer the OP's question without trolling... I'm seriously here. Sandbox gameplay means you run around doing the exact same thing on a predetermined maze like path with no real choices or consequences. I love sandboxes just wish EVE wasnt so linear, I want space flight like swtor.

I just do not understand why anyone would want 360 degree movement when you could just turn left, right, go up and down with invisible walls blocking your every move. Not to mention barrel rolls yay fun! thats what I'm talkin about.

I recall one night in a nightclub called the matrix, there I was... Mother of god there I am! Holy f**k.

Sandboxes are places where the bullies have a good time and life for everybody else sucks.

For me the Sandbox is the ability of random people to interfere with what I am doing regardless of what it is and for me to interfere with what they are doing.

Sandbox = I can pee in your cereals and you can punch me in the face for doing it.

For me it's the thought that the guy next to me, minding his own business, might actually be fit with ship scanners and is eyeballing me and setting up a warp in point for his friends.

...And knowing he might be thinking I'm doing the same thing.

Hello, hello again.

Without referencing eve specifically, just curious as to why so many feel the need to emphasize confrontational aspects of a sandbox.

If EVE is a sandbox simply because people can make castles that others can knock down, then AoC is too. In that, you can erect buildings with your guild, and other guilds can try to destroy them.

I personally think the term means much more.

THAT's trolling

Space flight in SWTOR is Starfox with better graphics... It doesnt GET more linear than that

Well I am a pirate because I chose to become a pirate/suicide ganker. The game allows it because its a part of the sandbox. Watch some fanfest. CCP will tell you flat out, we are not going to lie, eve is hard, eve is a sandbox because you can do whatever you want with unlimited gameplay. There is no end goal because just like in RL nobody knows what their end goal is. They just keep doing what they like doing until they find something else they like doing. The fact you need a game to hold your hand the entire time just means you have a closed mind. I mean really open your mind. But even CCP on their website now shows most of the possible things you can become in eve you can do. Pretty sad your that dense.

Pretty much everyone is a space pirate. Your only other options are mining/industry, exploration, or running a corp/alliance. And many of the original computer games just went on and on with no real goal, but i wouldn't call them sandboxes.

EVE is a great game, but a 'sandbox' it isn't. You fall into one of the defined roles and perform them within the confines of what the game allows.
