New Cyno Effects With Vid, Bitter Vets Check In

So Here we go, covert cyno, then regular cyno, then black ops jump in then titan.

Bridge Effects on host ship haven't changed, and both covert and regular cyno's share identical effects. As well as jumping ships have same effects. Also a ship jumping out has the effect run the same but the effect implodes instead of explodes, but I forgot to fraps that. gotta go back to work... enjoy.

These are Awful.

Only a tiny bit better from what we have now.

Please can we have the OLD effect back. I want to see lightening back.

New Cyno effect looks almost unchanged. and there should be a different effect for covert Cyno's

I for one think it looks great. Much cooler than the one we have now. There is a hint of wormhole in that effect too which is cool for consistency... well done and about time says I.

Must have not watched the same video. There is all kinds of lightning in the new effect.

Not saying it couldn't be improved; but it is miles better than what we have now. I hope the sound is also improved.

I like it! The only thing I would change is having the ships appear more gradually, as if they are emerging from cloak, rather than suddenly popping up in the middle of the fireworks.

meh it was ok

the cyno itself wasnt that great...its small too small it should make a big rift in space.

the jump in i like....dramatic effects and scales with ship size :)

They look pretty awesome but they need better timing so that the ship doesnt show until AFTER the be explodey bit

and the effect for small ships could be scaled up a bit larger in relation to the ship....

edit: also it looks like the effect is in reverse, that looks like a jump OUT effect but the jump IN effect should have lighting flying AWAY form the ship :P

Not bad at all. Would have been nice to different effects for bops and normal. The jump in does look pretty cool. Looking forward to seeing a fleet of 20+ titans jump in.

It's ok - the old one looked a tad weird at times in mass-jumps (particulary the cones orientation).

The only thing I'd like to see improved is the order at which things take place - right now it's:

ship appears -> flash

where it should be

flash -> ship appears

So the ship becomes visible after the maximum amplitude of the flash starts to fade...

The timing looks a little off. The effect should happen first then the ship appears.

But hey, Im still a fan of the super original effects and wish those back the most. However this will do for now.

Why Can't I have a picture signature.

Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

The cyno is a beacon, not a rift. The rift is opened by the jumping (or bridging) ship.

Other than the upped particle count I'm not seeing the difference.

Also, not having diff effects for covert cynos is ********. Just sayin'.

I personally liked the old one where there was a sense of movement/momentum as ships came in through a rift. You had time to 'oh ****'. This one is more like a cyno fart.

Timing does need a little tweaking, but the effects look great to me.

Remember guys it just hit the test server.


File a petition for the test server about the effects and let them know that the timing is off and that the ship should be moving slightly.

Plus what are the effects for jumping out?
