Was there any kind of "counter-attack" or anything? Or just blowing up random ships?

An actual WAR between hi-sec and null would be pretty darned cool, instead of merely a gank-fest.

What you suggest is beyond the boundaries of the story narrative of Eve Online. The closest thing you will get to "Null v. Hi-sec" already exists - Incursions, in which the Sansha (a nullsec NPC group) is invading other systems, including hisec Empire space.

Ganking is about all you can hope to get on the Player initiative side, because it is PVP centric players attempting to bring other players who attempt to avoid PVP, into combat Big smile

I watched some of the live feed and the whole thing was boring as hell. Except for the part where the guy brought out the Nyx at about midnight central US time Saturday night. That was exciting for about thirty seconds. Besides that it was a real snoozefest.

Burning Jita is not a spectator sport - ya gotta get in the game.

Timing was kinda important, too - Ya had to be there at the right times. Granted, a lot of the time, it *was* pretty bland, but there were some moments of real fun. And Thursday night was great fun, with all the random Concordokken happening.

To be honest, the most fun I had was kinda childish - but maybe that was why it *was* fun - was the Ninja-looting races. Silly, I know, to have 15 ninjas all vying for the same Ibis wreck, but it wasn't the contents - It was the 'kill.' To be the fastest, most agile, most alert ninja on the grid was the object, and the wrecks were only goal markers in that game. Every successful salvage was a win.

Eventually, I got too close to a discogeddon and became a marker myslf.
Totally worth it.

Do it again, Goons!

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

I feel sorry for you if you felt this was somehow a good example of pvp.

The whole thing was just great to watch, to bad I have a taste for pods and a few kills later I was back to -7.0 Sec Status so back to Null Sec and Low sec to hunt down tasty tears of carebear nooblets that need some terrorizing Twisted. Good thing I had my alt there to fraps the reset so I had some porn to watch for a little while.

Looked like fun for those doing the ganking.

Being new nobody shot at me so spent my time looting the wrecks where I could and killing the odd can if it was juicy but had a tractor beam pulling it away from me, made a decent amount of isk.

No, I know this was nothing like the real thing. I just enjoyed getting a few kills and watching the shootouts.
