NEW TO PROBE SCANNING

I have been trying to probe stuff. My first attempt was in a .2 sec using the technique wherein 4 probes are used at the compass point with one in the center. I dinged a site on like my third try. Ever since I haven`t been able to pin down anything, three days I have been trying in .5`s down to .2`s and haven`t been able to get a signal above 25%. I rigged a Probe for probe strength, still no luck, bought some Sisters Core Probes, still no luck. I don`t have all the probe skills just yet, 2 out of 3 so far.

I also tried the trinagular-pyramid shape without luck. Any help would be awesome.

Open up your filter settings (the bar right above where the sigs are listed) and set it to show all the Signatures (Unknown, Grav, Mag, Radar, and Ladar).

Does that increase the scan strength?

No, it stops sigs from vanishing after you get them to 25%+.

When I first got probing skills, I found I couldn't get some signatures very high until I trained rangefinding and pinpointing up to Level 4. Especially in low sec, some sigs are elusive.

If your sigs are getting above 25% and then disappearing altogether from the list, it's almost definitely your filters. If they just won't go higher than 25%, it's almost definitely your skill level.

def. train the pinpointing and rangefinding as many sig. in lower sec are harder to scan to 100% without it.

Use more probes than five if your skills allow it (I use eight).
