EVE General Discussion

Two weeks ago, CCP began a streak of awesomeness which even the bitterest of bittervets loved. However, it seems to have slowed. In rough chronological order, here are some of the major events leading to this point:

1. For a day, nearly every single thread in General Discussion had a dev post in it. Besides the usual CCP-style trolling, questions were being openly answer and information shared.


2. A devblog which announced the return of ship spinning, old turret icons, CQ graphical pretties, a picture of the Caldari CQ walkway and a new cyno effect.


3. A devblog showing off a new font, where it's possible to distinguish 8 and B; 0 and O; and I, l and 1. Long overdue, and it's coming amidst all of the other awesome!


4. A devblog announcing CCP's new direction, and how we should all "watch this space". Exciting! We've all certainly noticed the direction change!

Nothing happens for 4 days.


5. Custom videos are officially allowed for the CQ! That's nice. Not exciting, but nice. We're told to "watch this space" some more.

And here we are now. We've been watching this space for over a week, and nothing has happened. The cyno effect was even delayed. I'm a patient person, but others are not, and I'm afraid CCP's awesome streak is slowing to a halt. Nothing ever happens over the weekend, and I don't think I can last until Monday before I feel as if CCP missed a great opportunity to maintain momentum and keep the community overjoyed. We need stuff this Friday, or even miraculously over the weekend, in order to keep the ball rolling.

TL;DR - CCP has started a really great thing, but it's been a week since we've had any awesomeness. We need a bone thrown to us if they are to retain momentum and keep the community unusually happy.

I do agree that all the recent dev work on the forums is nice, but I think a lot still hinges on the winter x-pac for the veterans and what they can actually add/change to FiS.
