The simple fact remains: these stories are what have built EVE continued increase in subscription numbers, and they are what has made EVE appear in the mainstream press — not just the gaming media — again and again over the years. The only dips have occurred when they have strayed too far from that gameplay. So of course they think it's brilliant when players create events that will draw even more players to the game and bring them the kind of media reach that other games can only dream of… and for free.

By the way, you do know that griefing isn't allowed in EVE, right?

It is worth to note this. Large scams and other events have regularly made it into other game's news sources.

Not only that, but also many tech news sources. Even economist news sources when thats been relevant.
WoW, despite its size, has only really done the sooner once (but this was half a decade ago), and never at all the latter.

Other MMOs also basically never get any coverage except for when they happen to launch. EVE is very much unique in this aspect.

TBH I wonder how much of the forum drama is being created by Goonie alts to prove that they're doing something epic that will influence the lives of everyone and change civilisation as we know it. Jita may be an important system but it is not "the game"; and making it inaccessible for a week will not wreck Eve's economy, at best will cause some jerky movements in the market indexes. If at all.

Typical Goon idiot. What does the above have to do with the OP? The OP wants to be able to come and go into a system that he/she uses but cannot because the Jita is overcrowded. Please show us where the OP said that CCP should stop the goons from doing what they are doing?

Oh right, the OP is just asking to be able to use a system that they are used to using.

Logically, how do you want CCP to fulfill the OP's desire? The only reason there is a problem today is because of the Goons in the system. It is already running on a hardened node (Is usually anyway, as far as I know)

So what does the OP want CCP to do? What do you want them to do?
