OK, so up until today, EVE has worked fine for me. Got home after watching a film and EVE patched. It now refuses to even launch the launcher. I have downloaded the latest of the launcher AND repair tool. It keep producing the same error. Repair tool runs, and then I use the launcher and it still fails.

Here is the error I get.

I have the same problem. Will I be reimbursed SP when my training queue runs out and this problem is still not resolved?

Got the same problem. Solved it by removing config.ini from EVE folder. Not sure what this file is -- don't have it in the EVE folder on my laptop. It would be a good idea to backup this file though.

Same problem Twisted

Instead of getting better, the launcher gets worse the longer we get.... can we get rid of it please?

Oh and I cant post the errors because your piece of **** forums crashes everytime you try to put in symbols.

Something like:

File "patch_win.py", line 142, in RunUpdate
File "zsync\zsync.pyc", line 367, in RestoreFolder
File "zsync\zsync.pyc", line 653, in GetInfo
File "urllib2.pyc", line 126, in urlopen
File "urllib2.pyc", line 382, in open

At least this seems to get further:

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=101336&find=unread

Christ, can't even import manual patches anymore:

I think I have fixed mine. I deleted the config.ini and both Launcher cache folders. This prompted a new download and I'm back in game.

After much messing around, and running the repair tool a few times, i deleted the config.ini file.

This really is a real PITA, why are updates not being debugged before they are published.

I have also noticed that none of the links on the laucher seem to work for me, anyone else?

I don't have a config.ini file, where is this located?

Appears the fix was to copy the patch file to the EVE folder. WTF? It didn't even apply the patch?

deleting dsound.ini in my eve install folder fixed it for me

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

I also had exactly the same problem.

The file dsound.ini is not part of the Eve installation.

In my particular case dsound.ini is a file installed by Creative Alchemy which is a 'fudge' used by Creative to enable EAX support in Windows Vista and Windows 7.
