I had a lot of problems with the new patches. After the first one failed, the repair exe failed, then downloading from scratch failed. Finally a manual download worked and I could get on eve.

But today, a new small patch has come out as far as I can tell, and I get the error....

The program or feature "\??\C:\Program Files(x86)\CCP\EVE\launcher\launcher.eve" cannot start or run due to incompatibity (I know, the error has a typo...) with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available.

I'm running windows 7 64 bit and I would assume the patcher would auto download in 64 bit. Apparently not though : /

Anyone having the same problem/have an idea how to fix it?

Having same issue here. Had trouble with 1.5 update because of eset but added exceptions and got everything to work.

Just tried it now and got the latest update and am getting this error now when trying to run eve.exe. i can run eveexe.exe to play though it seems... not sure how long that will last though considering how everything has been going.

win 7 64bit ultimate

Thanks for the info. Running that exe file worked for now

Anyone else having the same problem go into C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin, and you'll find 'ExeFile.exe' , run that, it skips the launcher process

running windows 7 64 all service packs, this error showed up after the inferno expansion, the work around to start it with the ExeFile.exe worked till the second patch in the inferno expansion, when the patch was finished it started giving the same error

It's looking to be one of Those expansions...

same problem. again.

you'd think that this being a KNOWN issue, they could at LEAST test it out on a 64-bit machine BEFORE deployment.

i'm not sure i want to delete my install (again) and reinstall (again) and manually patch (again).

any ideas?

I have the same problem since Inferno too. I can't play the game since 24 april even if I enter in that file EveFile.exe.
It goes insite EveFile.exe and after EULA it leaves it for installing the patch and then the patch says Error.

What Can I do? Help!

PS: i can't even repair the game... it says also Error not 64bit compatible.
It's the 3rd time when I've installed the game and same errors.

stayed positives and looked for a work around nothings working... fail expansion is fail.

Same thing happened here, But now the launcher skip step doesn't work at all. CCP needed here!

It's been like this for 2 months...Please help!
